Terrible Hammer, Waste of Money

Based on our own experience, this hammer is a complete disappointment. The AVT feature didn't live up to its promise and we ended up with vibrations that were intolerable in our workplace. It wasn't the heavy-duty hammer we were hoping for and ended up being a waste of money.

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Too much vibration, not heavy-duty enough for industrial and scientific use.

Should have lasted longer, poor carbon brush and plunger

Runs about 40 hours for a month and the carbon brush has burned out. Now, a week later, he lost his punching power, it turned out that the piston was defective. Think twice before you buy this.

Pros
  • Soft start suppresses starting response for more control and better accuracy
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

Makita quality in drill bits

Makita tools have met my needs with excellent performance since the mid 1980's. I use other brands like DeWalt, Greenworks, Rigid, Kreg and Craftsman. So I'm familiar with other brands. Makita makes tools that work well and last a long time. For example. I have a Makita corded grinder from the mid 80's. I have a Makita heat gun from 2000. This jackhammer matches the Makita profile.

Pros
  • Separate rear handle is spring loaded and designed to provide less vibration and more control
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
