Mechanically weak, only one USB port.

Fragile plastic construction. The four screws that attach this piece to the PC are screwed directly into the thin plastic side panels and cannot be tightened enough to prevent the device from slipping back into the slots (in the sheet metal of the PC) when the connector is inserted into the front panel is inserted. It moves back about 1/8 inch before stopping, but then it's no longer flush with the front of the PC. USB port This means I can't plug my USB portable hard drive, for example, intoโ€ฆ

Great product, great price!

I love these card readers! They are small, light and made of plastic. They are ideal for replacing the useless floppy drive slots in the Dell Optiplex Small Form Factor (SFF) 745, 755, 760 and 780. Because SFFs are so compact that only a small amount of space can be squeezed in for a card reader. Readers from other brands are too long and interfere with memory or power supply. Not these! They fit like a charm and require no modification. They even have the correct motherboard connector. Someโ€ฆ

Cheap and functional

I have been using this product for about half a year and this is what I can tell you from my experience. Pros:>Very affordable card reader>Supports an impressive variety of storage formats>Compact design>No power cord required>Easy installation Cons:>Inexpensive assembly; Only the main parts are included in the design, the materials feel cheap and a little flimsy, which isn't a big issue when it's in your computer. As an extension, if you look at the slots from a certainโ€ฆ

Good for what it is.

I don't have enough space for it on my HTPC and it worked. I bought it thinking I might have to cut off the back, which would be super easy. I ended up installing it in a hole in the case intended for the factory front panel audio and USB ports. I had to modify the case a bit and make new holes with small screws on the sides to make it work. The bottom line is that it works. The light isn't a problem for me as there is a valve that shuts this whole device off most of the time, but if it bothers

Good device, not perfect.

It's not ideal, you can use another USB slot instead of the micro SD slot, you usually have an adapter that allows you to read it in the SDHC slot; but that doesn't detract from its usefulness when filling an unused 3.5" bay on a tower. Good price, great alternative to 5.25" readers if you don't have an extra one of these slots, and easy to install: IF you have an extra connector on your MB for an internal 9-pin USB connection. DO NOT try to use a splitter, this will NOT work with W7 (x64โ€ฆ

Works with some mods

After using it for a while I feel obliged to make sure people get a reasonable estimate. First, as another reviewer said, USB really isn't good for fast charging of most devices. I wanted something to fill the empty 3.5" slot instead of using an external card reader. I have enough USB ports so it's not a big problem. For the price you really shouldn't expect anything durable or even built to last the life of your PC, you can tell by how lightweight it is. You really need some sort of glue orโ€ฆ
