Received this reactor just a few days ago. I have too much flow because the pump is strong. Tried to adjust but no effect from rotating the base. It is also not possible to install a square plate on the bottom. Not sure if I really need it, but one side of the screws snapped trying to attach it. I will ask the seller for help. Seems like a good deal. But I need it to function properly.

This bio pellet reactor is very valuable, you just have to modify it so that the pellets tumble as expected. The pump is too strong and needs some kind of limitation. I bought a 1/2" PVC ball valve (less than $3) and used silicone to attach it to the reactor outlet. After that I was able to fine tune the reactor for optimal acrobatic action. I was skeptical about this company and decided to try their product for $60 as I'm considering buying the protein skimmer they make. It feels like good quality, not cheap plastic or acrylic. Very durable, the pump gives a good flow, I try bio granules. I put a sponge from another reactor on top to control the flow. This was a replacement for a much larger (18 inch) reactor that needed a $$$ pump to get the pellets moving a bit. The reactor arrived in perfect condition, everything is fine. parts. Just flush, remove the logo decal and fill with current pellets and then into the sump. Takes up less space and doesn't require elbow pipe to direct outlet flow to the skimmer (cut just above the skimmer inlet) if you just want to make sure it goes there. This unit should be advertised as a 55 gallon sea fish tank. It only fits 500 ml. I filled it up to 750ml and it immediately filled 4/5 from the top and mixed about 1/5 the volume. I've tried, as others have said, turning the pump to one side or the other to slow the flow so they tumble, but to no avail. The pump is too powerful and the canister too small. In terms of performance - I would give 5 stars! It works great in the sump compartment with my skimmer and the outlet is next to the skimmer's inlet. Half filled with medium and it handled the tumbling well once I found the best setting by rotating the base over the pump. Now for things that lead to a one star drop. The packaging isn't great.
