Seems better for light rain

Good for running on layered snow. Does not withstand long periods of continuous rain; It ended up getting soaked in maybe an hour or so. Seems to work better in lighter rain.

Pros
  • 100% nylon
Cons
  • No performance

Based on sizing for trench coats, raincoats and anoraks only.

I only gave these three stars for size because they are quality pants but at 5ft2 they were so long I don't understand why more outdoor companies don't have petite options for their clothing to offer. .small people also participate in outdoor activities.

Pros
  • New generation waterproofing. Our PreCip pants and jacket collection is made from PFC-free, recycled NanoPro nylon fabric. microporous coating.
Cons
  • Not bad

Good raincoat, convenient for travel

Excellent lightweight raincoat. Love the pit zips for warm days or active wear and the hooded option if you're stuck without an umbrella. Slightly longer than the other options but not too long, which is ideal. It's also slightly wider at the hips for comfort and fits over whatever you wear for short rains or everyday wear.

Pros
  • Imported
Cons
  • There are nuances

Keeps me dry during a 2 hour hike in the pouring rain.

I did a mild two-hour hike in the fall in 60 degrees. I love that it keeps me dry in heavy rain. It was not a downpour, but very rainy and windy. I usually sweat when hiking, but I didn't sweat at all, so I felt very comfortable. The hood has a velcro strap that allows me to shorten and adjust the hood. This is a handy feature. For me there was only one downside. The hood has elastic drawstrings at both ends that allow me to adjust the hood around my neck, but I have to tie them to put the hood

Pros
  • Avoid getting wet. Tough and durable, with a patented dry-to-touch coating, this waterproof jacket offers comfort and protection for planned trips in inclement weather, or as an emergency layer in your pack in the event of an unexpected downpour.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Close-fitting waterproof rain jacket

This jacket turned out to be much better than I expected and I had high expectations. I wanted a compact, waterproof/breathable jacket that would fit my shape. The color is beautiful (arctic fleet). I was expecting it to be cold since it has no fleece lining, but I wanted a jacket that could be used for travel and year round as I live in New England. I thought it would be better to take a jacket that you can wear fleece underneath. This jacket kept me warm even without a fleece on a 40 degree…

Pros
  • Zipper
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Excellent pants, apart from the velcro straps

I am an extremely active volunteer leader in the Olympic Mountains where it rains really heavily. Waterproof pants are essential for my trail work and hiking. They are perfect in every way (fitting, really waterproof etc.). A big issue is that they are designed to stay closed as they are fully zipped. The full zip is great - it allows me to get my pants on and off without taking my boots off every time. This is the second time I've worn these pants (I've literally worn out others, which is hard

Pros
  • Comfort in all conditions. An attached, adjustable hood and DriClime-lined chin guard keep the wearer feeling less sticky and more comfortable in a variety of temperatures and conditions.
Cons
  • Dear

This is the winner!

This was the best of the 7 waterproof jacket brands/styles I tried. (Others included North Face Resolve 2, Resolve Plus and Ventura, Black Diamond Stormline, Columbia Arcadia II (solid color and printed, which were slightly different), and Patagonia TorrentShell.) Marmot Pre-Cip adjustable hood tucks into collar when not in use ( a big plus), and the two-piece collar and hood feel more open while still offering more coverage than the one-piece versions. This jacket is very light and fits…

Pros
  • Protection and ease of use for every product. The PreCip jacket has fully taped seams to prevent leakage and taped storm flaps over the zips to keep moisture out. Zippered pockets provide quick storage for your personal items.

Learn how to unpack properly.

These pants are very easy to put on and take off without having to take off your boots. I usually order a size small or 26" waist and they are quite snug around the waist despite the stretch. If you want a looser fit at the waist, go up a size. The rest of the pants are still roomy but not too tight on the body, a little noisy when moving. To unzip, you pull it from the ankle and it opens at the waist. I know that though. I keep catching myself trying to unzip the zipper from the waist down…

Pros
  • Machine washable
Cons
  • Very expensive
