You can vary the pressure and time you use to roll.

I roll it on the back of my calves and thighs for just 120 seconds once or twice a day. It doesn't seem like anything special, but this yoga roller got me out of pain for the first time in two months.

Too small for my little feet.

Don't know; I'm not a big guy, I don't exercise much etc. but these things don't seem to tone my calves very much. When I roll it across the front of my leg it drags a little painfully across my calf. Just not what I was hoping for I guess.

Made for a small person

SEALED item. I'm an athletic 5ft 7in and it compresses pretty tight. The rollers are spongy but hard enough that some of them can get buried in them, although I don't get as much use as I was hoping. The plastic frame has some room for error, but not enough for me to use it comfortably.
