Very very high quality. Looks factory.

I bought these as an upgrade to an old license plate camera I had on a 2011 Toyota Tundra. Now I can see my hitch and bumper better. Two important notes about this product. The original video is better. * The digital guides you see in the camera view are hardwired. I was told that you can cut the wire to make them go away. This can be useful if you prefer to use the recommendations generated by your stereo head unit. The instructions for adding and removing these built-in recommendations are…

Fits my 2005 Tundra perfectly and looks like it came from the factory OEM

This was added to a 2005 Tundra that didn't have room for a cam. I was so happy to find this product as there wasn't much available before 2007 so I bought it. Install DIY and everything went as expected with no unexpected issues. Love the look that can be used for both backup and hitch. I didn't need to adjust the camera as it was perfectly aligned upon delivery. I kept the guides, although you can use them without them. I hope this pen/camera is strong and durable, time will tell. thanks

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • So far so good

This was a simple setup but I wish there was an extra cable to provide an input for my main unit to switch to the camera when reversing. I had to lay a separate cable. Not a big deal, but it would still be easier to enable and if you didn't need it, you just wouldn't use it. Park assist lines that you cannot turn off, you have two sets of lines. I was able to disable the head unit lines so no problem.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Great security add on

I bought my Master Tailgaters Toyota Tundra backup camera on the recommendation of the Best Buy technician who installed my new radio. Finally installed (it took me a while to get an appointment with Best Buy). I highly recommend this camera installed in the tailgate replacement handle. It looks like it's original equipment. This is a great safety addition allowing me to see my hitch and the dangerous blind spot behind the truck where you can easily miss a child or pet. I like backup lines…

Great finished product confusing tailgate assembly

Great product, some knowledge of how your car is put together really helps with do it yourself assembly. My only concern is the built in fuse which comes pre-installed on the positive wire, as the wire has to go through the tailgate and floor of the car I would suggest making the fuse a crimp which can be added after the tether becomes pulled because it doesn't go through multiple holes that the line should go through. I also added some 3/8 flex tubing to protect the line as by its very nature…
