Just be careful in handling.

Great deal for easy hook up. I only gave it 4 stars because I'm not entirely sure about the build quality, but so far so good. I added a small strip of masking tape for security and protection. Works as intended for my vintage receiver.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I will add later

Cannot withstand water from outside

Product wrapped in shrink film over fibrous body. The bottom of the shrink wrap is not waterproof. This allows water to penetrate the packaging. When mounted with 300 ohm wires up, water can easily penetrate the fiber jacket.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • So far so good

Can't beat the price

I just gave up satellite TV. Prices there continue to rise. So I decided to build my own HD antennas. Stores charged $6 or more for a balun. I ordered three cheaper than the price of one in stores and they work great! By the way, my homemade antennas work twice as well as the ones from the store.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • Expensive

This is what you expect

Can't rate durability as I've just received it. This is very often required to adapt a TV antenna to a coaxial cable going to a TV. They seem to be well suited for over-the-air TV. Having used at least one of these I can update it in case there are any surprises. (good or bad)

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not sure

Good quality, good for cables and connections

I bought this to replace an adapter with damaged insulation (a full size antenna installed in the attic). The image quality has improved significantly with the new adapter. I only needed one but for the price why not. The only downside is that the cables were too short to connect to my antenna. I had to cut the insulation between the two wires a bit to get the connection to the antenna.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Minor issues

A contact broke off immediately.

As the name suggests. Got this along with a 60's stereo receiver antenna which still works great but has poor reception and no longer has a modern antenna input. In fact, I TOUCHED the connector on the screw, and one of them broke. Anyway I just broke the other one then exposed some wires and connected it like this. Now the radio works great so that's something but I'd suggest looking elsewhere if you need that particular connector.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • not fashionable

Do not use outdoors: F-pin coaxial tip

I bought them to experiment, so I'm not leaving a "bad" review, but will describe what I found for other potential buyers. The outer "shell" is just a thin piece of shrink-wrapped plastic. Inside is a two-piece plastic case that is easy to disassemble. So I wouldn't use it outside like that, it doesn't look very weatherproof. However, they are perfect for my experiment, rewinding the toroid for different impedances, and when I want to use it outside with a custom antenna, it's repackaged and…

Cons
  • Vulgarity

Very bad quality! Be careful.

The price is low, but the quality is probably cheaper. As soon as I screwed the plug contact to the antenna, the contact broke off. Luckily I ordered 3 packs as I thought. I put the second one on and was able to attach it to the antenna. When I then connected the cable from the house to the transformer, I noticed that the plug kept turning. For some reason the transformer connector was not connected internally. So the last shift with the last of the 3. Contact with the third should also be…
