DVDs compatible with accessories and consumables

I was very happy to find these blank DVD-R 8x discs. They are compatible with older DVD recorders, all others are not (yet) compatible. I believe it has to do with the 8x speed. They also printed the DVD logo. They weren't easy to find and required a lot of research. You can buy a pair like I did.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • I'm pissed off

Compatible with Funai FDRV90E

These 8X discs are compatible with the earlier Funai FDRV90E VHS/DVD dual deck player/recorder. I mention this because I've had trouble figuring out which discs are compatible with this particular device, and I've spent a lot of money blindly buying the wrong type of disc because the user manual doesn't clearly say that only this particular device accepts will 8X DVD-R or DVD-RW discs! These discs make good, clear recordings with no problems.

Pros
  • Highest Support and Durability Ratings from Testers
Cons
  • Fair

Maxell dvd rating

I had to order Maxell brand discs as Magnavox DVD recorders only work with Maxell or another brand. Having used Maxell before and had no issues, I went with Maxell.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • No

Works great on my DVR

When I ran out of 8x DVDs I bought some DVDs up to 16x speed. They didn't work on my 5 year old Sony DVR. I think I could dig up my DVR manual, change some settings and maybe fix it (or maybe not), but I didn't want to switch between settings. Until my dash cam fails I will continue to use the 8X. It worked great!

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Minor issues
