My switch to a small pump!

I use them anywhere I need to pump water over 4 feet! This small internal/external pump is a workhorse, it will never overheat or melt, it has a thermistor to protect against overheating due to lack of water. This pump will turn off and on again once there is water in it to cool it down and resume pumping! There is never a risk of fire just like other powerheads overheating!

Great find for me! suitable for water pumps

16 years ago I bought a garden fountain that no longer pumps. I searched the internet but couldn't find the brand and style of the fountain anywhere. I was looking for a Max-Jet 1200 pump that was made in Italy and is no longer made. I took a chance and ordered this one. The water started flowing down the fountain before I even filled the pond. I used to have to fill the pond, stand and wait for the water to start flowing, which sometimes required pumping. I'm happy about this resolution and…

Pump hums when running

I purchased this pump many years ago based on my extensive experience with Maxi-Jet pumps while keeping saltwater aquariums. I used the same model I bought 5 or 6 years ago to power a porch fountain. The aesthetic quality of a fountain is important so a very quiet pump is needed and the previous Maxi-Jet pump has met this requirement for years, running about 12 hours a day. Original pump completely burned out. However, this maxi jet was much louder than the one I replaced - so much so that it…

Helpful but not for everyone.

TL;DR: A fairly powerful but noisy pump that is best used for occasional tasks unless you are deaf or don't mind loud grinding noises. This is a very powerful pump and works well for pumping large volumes of water to and from my many aquariums through my 50 foot faucet. I've used it a few times the day of the water change and the only problem I've had so far, albeit a small one, was that it wouldn't pump water when more than half the length of the hose was present. above the pump. When he…

This is one of the worst pumps I've ever had

Thanks to my reef maintenance hobby, I've had dozens of pumps. Everything from Cobalt's Maxi-Jet to Mag Drives and Shark Pumps. This is one of the worst pumps I have ever had. It is ABSOLUTELY noisy because from across the room you can hear the propeller rumble inside. When it turns on (I use an alternator) it starts with a very unpleasant and loud click that even my inferior Acce pump doesn't have. I tried to transplant and fiddle with the propeller but to no avail, same loud knocking. The…
