Description of 🏎️ Maxima 59901-10 165/150 Grade 10WT Fork Fluid - Zero Drag Formula for Racing - 1 Liter

Maxima Racing Fork Fluid is designed to drastically reduce stiction and meet all front suspension needs on both standard and cartridge systems. This advanced formulation utilizes the latest friction reducers, anti-foam, rust and corrosion inhibitors and is resistant to oxidation and viscosity changes. This viscosity index over 190+ assures constant fork action over a wide temperature range and also contains seal conditioners and shear stable polymers for long life. Racing fork fluid 5wt is the same viscosity fluid as 01, SS7, or STD; KYB fluid and is recommended for most late model mx forks; 7wt, 10wt and 15wt is for those applications requiring greater damping. All weight grades can be blended for intermediate viscosity grades. Fit type: Vehicle Specific.

Pros
  • Still satisfied
Cons
  • Hard to say

Good replacement for SS-47

Used this oil to change SS-47 oil to PBF on a 2013 GSXR 750. It seems really slippery. It's very likely that it's a bit heavier than the SS-47 because I had to reduce the compression and rebound by one turn to get the fork feeling like it used to.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not bad but...

That should be hot advice!

I bought this oil on the recommendation of a reputable suspension guru. This bottle will service both lower legs of a 2003 Triumph Sprint ST leaving you a few hundred cc. I can't tell if this oil had a significant impact on the front end because I rebuilt the sliders (bushings and seals). ) and "edited” the tubes with cross hatching. The front looks more "plush" but I don't know how much that has to do with this oil.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Good but not great

It's hard to say if it's better than any other fork oil.

I've heard some wonderful stories about this particular fork oil. My forks got stuck so I grabbed a bottle. My old fork oil turned out to be VERY dirty. Replaced it with this one and they definitely stick a little less, probably because the oil is just cleaner. I was hoping that with more riding they would loosen up a bit, but no change after a few hundred miles. Seems to be a decent fork oil but I can't tell if it's better than any other fork oil.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • There are disadvantages
