Wire Beads for Cycling

I asked my dealer to fit this tire on my rim and they said it was a wire bead and that's why it was so heavy and difficult to fit. Also, after installation by my shop mechanic, we noticed massive tire wobble that couldn't be fixed. Now I'm stuck with a heavy, wiry, warped tire. I do not recommend this tire!

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability

29 x 2.5 = DH body, Dual Compound, EXO, Tubeless Ready

Pros: reservoir - probably indestructible - not afraid of flats on sharp rocks off Wasatch, excellent grip, doesn't take very low pressure, no wind , make a good landing spot. Cons: Tank - weight 1200g, hard sidewalls - driving performance is not as good as exo-minions on small rocks,

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Requires rosette

Definitely the best running tire here in Colorado

Definitely the best running tire here in Colorado. This is an extremely aggressive tread pattern and grip. The recommended pressure is 35-50psi, but if you're working without hoses I prefer to keep it at around 28psi. This makes the tire slower but also less elastic. I pair this with a Maxxis High Roller II 29x2.3 in the rear and it's the perfect pair for do-it-all bikes. There's a reason everyone in Colorado runs Maxxis tires.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Without a doubt

Great grip tire!

This was my first purchase of mountain bike tires over the years as I have become more involved in the activity. I was in dire need of a new rear tire that used to have a tube. This Maxxis tire has made me a fan for life! It wasn't as hard to mount and install tubeless as I thought it would be. The bead doesn't "pop" on my rim but it is very easy to hand inflate with sealant which works really well! From now on I will buy this tire for my rear triangle. Depending on what terrain I'm travelingโ€ฆ
