Excellent Traction for Adventurous Cyclists

As a hesitant buyer, I was quite impressed with the MAXXIS Rekon EXO Tire in the Sports and Outdoors category. As my tests showed, the tire has an incredible grip on any terrain, allowing for a more adventurous cycling experience. The MaxxTerra compound provides better durability and long-lasting wear. Although the tire may be a little heavier than others, the added weight is worth the improved performance. All in all, an excellent purchase for anyone seeking a more adventurous cyclingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Durable and versatile tread design for a wide range of terrains.
Cons
  • Limited sizing options.

Perfect cornering! on Sport

Best front tire! I went from a DHF 2.5 to a Rekon 2.4 and not only is the bike a lot lighter it has 2-3 times better grip on the loose hard/dry sand trails I ride. I'm an aggressive rider always trying to break in less and less in flat corners to get better and this tire changed the game forever. The rounded, downward-sloping profile makes for super predictable cornering, whether you lean a little or a lot you get the same confidence that translates into faster cornering. I will always buy this

Pros
  • TPI: 60
Cons
  • Some bugs

Significant cracking after 1 year

I actually like this tire, it's a decent mix of fast riding but not sketchy XC racing tire so I was planning on using it as a rear tire for the foreseeable future. . Unfortunately things are probably changing now as after just a year I noticed that the outer rubber was developing significant cracks around the entire circumference of the tyre. It's not time to change tires yet since they're only used on soft Indiana trails and kept in the garage, but this one looks like it's ready to chip offโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Composition: 3C MAXX TERRA
Cons
  • Disappear
