145 lb Cane Corso Mastiff no longer pulls!

I've tried everything I could think of with my 3 year old Cane Corso Great Dane: training, shock collar, padded leash and even another collar with prongs and positive reinforcement. For a while I gave up and stopped walking him. He was pulling so hard that I had to use all my weight to pull him back while yelling at him the entire time. Not only did we go for a walk, I was able to take BOTH mastiffs for a 30 minute run. I can't express enough how happy I am! After 2 minutes with this collarโ€ฆ

Difficult to size.

I had a hard time removing the link to shorten this collar. I ended up using pliers to adjust the size. Our first outing went great and it really helped correct my husky's need to pull. On our second walk, he stretched a bit and actually came off the collar. Luckily I had treats with me and returned it. I'm not sure if the links were misplaced after I shortened the collar or if something went wrong, but I'm disappointed that he was able to free himself from it so easily. I want this collar toโ€ฆ

Large Collar Spiked Collar

We now have two spiked collars - my wife puts the small one on our dog and I put this large collar on our dog. Both remind him not to bark in the car! I like the mechanism for attaching and detaching the collar on the large ring - the small one has to be pinched to detach the collar, which I find more difficult. I've seen people pull the collar over the dog's face but I was afraid the sudden movement might blind the dog! That big collar seems too big - I wish I could find one that comes offโ€ฆ

HEAVY DUTY GREAT PURCHASE

I think this collar works wonders. I have a large (90lb) Boerboel/Ridgeback who has recently started to show signs of aggression on walks when others are "too close". Ordered this collar to control her behavior, a slight tug up will make her stop her behavior and continue. Slightly heavier than most regular collars, which I feel is necessary in my case. I only ordered the collar out of fear that I would need extra links, but I decided to wait first, there are so many links to start with, so Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • There are some nuances

We have been using this collar on a Golden Retriever puppy for 3 months and we like it. This collar won't hurt him, but he'll respond if you flick it on quickly. We actually removed the rubber tips but it didn't make much of a difference. He's still learning not to jump and jump when he sees a squirrel and he still pulls a lot, but at least he's responsive to that collar. We were hesitant to use a spiked collar due to the many negative reviews, but it doesn't harm our Golden at all and at least

Not a huge fan though. it worked as a last resort

While I'm not a fan of using these collars for dog training, we had to resort to one for our growing pit bull. He has become too violent and unfortunately pulls too much on a normal collar or harness. We've paired this with a very heavy duty dual handle leash and so far the difference has been like day and night. He doesn't like the slight pinch when he pulls or tries to throw what we call his "tantrums" when we're not getting him where he wants to go. added as needed depending on the size ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Modern

This product was exactly as advertised and more than met my expectations. I was against spiked collars but after taking my rottweiler to training the trainer highly recommended it because it was so strong it dragged me everywhere and when training it would really help and damn she was right! I love that this collar has a lightweight clasp that is easy to put on and take off, unlike the traditional ones that I didn't have enough strength and my 100lb puppy wouldn't hold it on long enough to doโ€ฆ
