We've bought a dozen of these over the past four years. Every single one of them failed. Every. Single. One. The "lock" mechanism is too finicky. Not only is it hard to get the system to stick/lock, but once you THINK you have, it falls down too easily, regardless the material it's up against (drywall, tile, painted plaster, brick.).The engineering of this product is exceptionally poor--which is remarkable for a non-electronic modern product.

I needed a longer than average rod for a temporary room divider and this was perfect! I paired it with some window drapes and it looked great!

I am a visual person and although the description clearly states brushed nickel, the image shows the tension rod in oil rubbed bronze. This was a disappointment, but the package came in great condition and in a timely manor.

I previously had a similar tension rod of another brand over the shower for hanging hand-washed laundry items, all of which are pretty light. The rubber on the old one finally lost its holding power this fall and I replaced it with this Maytex EZ Up tension rod, courtesy of the Revain Vine program.
