2 different sets of identical keys. WTF

So I read reviews after purchase. One of the reviews says I ordered 2 sets and the key from one set fits the other set. Don't you know that I have the same problem. The keys have different key codes, but the keys are identical and will work on both sets. That's not security. If someone wants to steal my wheels, all they have to do is buy a $20 kit and have a working key. waste of money.

Smart design - accessories and parts

Hello, I work as a local mechanic at a dealership. Over the years I've seen SEVERAL common lug nuts loosen easily, including a few nuts from McGaurd and other common brands. All you have to do is take what's called a wheel nut puller (a gear nut) and drive it into the nut with a hammer and zip and you've just lost a wheel. BUT I like this one because it's a lot harder to get the extractor to grab the outside of the nut.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • No automatic

Another high quality McGard set!

Ideal for Silverado with tabs that go under the center cap. I upgraded my truck to a set of standard 20 inch wheels. Anyone who buys trucks knows that OEM wheel upgrades don't come cheap. You need to get locks to protect them from people who might want to rob you. To make it short, advantages: Fits perfectly to my Silverado. You will never guess that there was a non-genuine part under the center cap. Cons: Absolutely none. Just don't lose the key!

An affordable option but I don't know how it will stand the test of time.

Three stars because I feel the value for money is fair for what you get. 1- Good price if you only need wheel locks that you turn/remove once a year. 2- The metal is soft to the touch and right after installation I noticed wear where the key sits. 3- I'm concerned about wear and tear from installation - I'm not sure how many times I'll have to remove/install them before they're completely removed. 4- Finally, I wish I had ordered some 100% stainless steel ones.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent fit for Tesla Model 3

I took these along with the Gorilla locks and left the McGard locks at the end as they are much better constructed and match the factory Tesla Model 3 Sport models (19" and 20") fits 'wheels'. The tapered shape and angle is the same as the original Tesla nut but not as deep. However, it holds securely and fits easily under the center cap cover. I use 2 rear locks on some Blox Racing spacers and so far I haven't had any problems. In my book they are 5 stars but I gave them 3 stars as they are…

2 different sets had the same pattern and key!

DO NOT order this product from Revain. They are all the same! I received my first set and the lug/lock pattern was just a regular 6 pointed star. Absolutely no uneven pattern. I was able to insert the key every time I turned the key 1/6 turn. So I ordered the 2nd set and the 2nd set was exactly the same! The key from the first set worked on the lugs from the 2nd set! That tells me McGard is lying when they say their locks have "a thousand different patterns". I am returning both sets due to…

  • Great Product
Cons
  • No

Too bad I should have read the description and looked at the picture more closely, I also didn't realize that you can buy this type of wheel lock. To add insult to injury, the packaging image on Revain indicates that you can purchase caps 70005 or 70006 for these locks. I bought these caps and they didn't work. Which would have been great if they worked hence the score is 3. When I received the product the product packaging did not have this comment on it so McGard had to fix it. See McGard…

Works good but not enough threads to directly replace the stock nut

I purchased these and installed them on a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado truck with plastic caps that screw onto threaded nuts. The only downside was that they had to have at least one more thread to hold the plastic acorn nuts securely. Dome nuts have half as many threads as the standard nuts they replace. You can order a spare key for $20 - just in case. I've had occasions where tire shops have forgotten to change the wheel lock key in my cars and luckily I discovered this before I was involved in…
