It does its job, but it's already rusting.

Already rusting. They do their job but are not happy with the rust. You can see from a distance which are the locking tabs.

Cons

Seems to work well and good quality.

Works as described. I did a little research and they seem to be more recommendable than other well-known brands. My only complaint is that I wish they came in matte black.

The key is not as strong as I thought

The key broke off in the lock on the side. I need to order a new key. Note to self. Do not install with a percussion gun. With the issue of having to take them off with the key, I don't think anyone would take them off without the key.

McGard has important problems to solve!

Like most people in the reviews - they called from my shop this morning to say the key was broken. McGard should at least sell a spare key as this is such a problem. Another $40 was spent removing these locks from the tires.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Expensive

Not even remotely rust resistant!

Very uncomfortable. I was frustrated when my previous AutoZone chrome kit rusted on my Jeep Wrangler after 6 years. I didn't want to deal with it again so I was hoping to find a stainless steel set. Couldn't find it so thought this black set from McGard would be the next best thing. boy was i wrong! This set has been rusted for 3 weeks! (Yes, it's winter in Ohio with salt on the streets, but that's the reality)

  • Free for educational purposes

REVISED REVIEW - 1 year later - Rusty

My original review came after using it for 3 months over the summer. The fit was right and they looked great. Fast forward 1 year, after fall and the approaching end of winter in New York, they look like completely rusted garbage. I really don't want to spend money on another set and support this inferior product so I'm now looking for an alternative. I believe that everyone will experience this result at some point.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

The lock seat is broken

They work fine but my lock seat fell off one of the tabs when trying to remove them. I had to take my Jeep to Discount Tire to have them remove the locking tabs with a special release bushing just to remove them and it took them over an hour to do it and they were only able to remove 2 out of 5. The inside of the lock socket is damaged. I'll post pictures when I'm home. Also, I re-ordered them because I couldn't find a store to buy the other 3 and they changed the design so I'm f'd now.
