Grizzly eats Mitutoyo

This is a great caliper for an even better price. Being a machinist I use calipers every day, and this is just as good as a $200 mitutoyo dial caliper. Definitely worth the investment and I would recommend this brand to anyone

Pros
  • Decent reasonably accurate calipers.
Cons
  • Bulky Design: The Grizzly G9281 8-Inch Stainless Steel Caliper is quite bulky with its large jaws and thick handles. This can make it difficult to navigate in tight spaces or when precision is crucial

Cheap calipers, ID Blades hang on each other, due to gap.

There is a .008 gap between the ID blades which causes them to hang together when you try to open them. Everything else seems fine about them, but I cannot get over that issue.

Pros
  • Graet for the price
Cons
  • Limited Range

Does not read consistently

Sadly the caliper is just not up to quality. When I recieved it the look was decent and finish appeard ok. I did like the black dial. Unfortunately the caliper itself was not fluid in movement and it was difficult to slide. The adjustment screws were very loose and when I closed it the caliper it would never zero, it was always one tick off in eithe rdirection. Ultimately, I ended up sending it back and will buy something else.

Pros
  • It is Judas Priest any questions. They still rock
Cons
  • Prone to Rust: Despite being made from stainless steel, this caliper is still prone to rust if not properly cared for. This can be frustrating for users who are looking for a durable tool that can withstand harsh conditions
