Description of Enhance Your Audio Experience with Mediabridge Banana Plugs - Durable 24K Gold-Plated Connectors - 2 Pair/4 Banana Plugs (Part# SPC-BP2-2)

Includes 2 pairs of banana plugs, which are meant for attaching to speaker wire and supplying a high-quality signal path from audio components like a speaker to an audio/video receiver, amplifier or other professional sound application. Compatible with bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs, and work with 8-18 AWG speaker wire. Connectors & crimping teeth are coated in corrosion-resistant 24K gold-plating for lasting, for secure fits with clarity, natural sonic accuracy and no distortion. A wider base minimizes shorting for maximum signal transfer, and a 2-piece screw-on design makes for reliable termination/reuse. Simply connect existing speaker wires to a banana plug through its bottom piece (step-by-step installation guide included). Self-crimping teeth make for easy one-time installs, and a low profile build only sticks out 1”. The heavy-duty plugs are color coded, distinguishing left from right to enable matching polarity. Fast-lock is a great plug-and-play alternative to using bare wire when connecting devices, taking away the hassle of crimping or soldering. Each plug has a female banana plug connector on the bottom, allowing you to hook up speakers to a single output.

Reliable and good connection

They don't have banana plugs to use as voltmeter test leads to fix my test leads. These connectors work great with a good fit and good contact in the gold plated voltmeter. But they are too expensive. You should be able to buy the right ones, say 10 for $5. I've tried the ones that used a set screw on the side. They kept screwing and one of them got a nasty hit because the screw was connected to the wire and I touched it with my finger.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • So far so good

High quality and easy installation

I bought these banana plugs to connect a pair of Clements RT-7s to a Pioneer DX-7000 Silverface receiver. I had never used banana plugs and didn't know how they worked. Luckily there is a small sheet in the box that tells you how to install it. Did them in 10 minutes and the connections seem really strong. This brand advertises the fork design as better than the competition and as a newbie I don't know if that's true but it looked really good.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Everything works fine

Easy to use and easy to connect

I love making custom length cables for installation, but hate just twisting the wire and twisting it around the screw posts on the back of the to wrap the speaker. Instead, I just strip the end of the cable, bend it over, unscrew the connector and plug it into the rack. Most screw-in speaker stands accept this type of connector, so not only are they more secure, they also look neater. I've used probably 16 of these and never had any problems. They stayed on the wire for two laps and I have no…

WILL NOT WORK WITH 8AWG WIRE

I bought these connectors on purpose because they work with 8-18AWG wire and I needed them to install a car subwoofer that I am using I used 8 AWG wire. Well they don't fit right, I put the wire in but many of the strands were pushed around the insulation instead of through the center conductor. I used KnuKonceptz Karma SS 8 gauge speaker wire. Other reviews have also said it doesn't work with 8 AWG. They need to change their description in terms of wire size that will work correctly with these

High Quality Plugs - Audio Visual Accessories

Bought these to replace my old system when I upgraded my speakers. I've always used open caps, but this time I went for closed caps. I installed 7 loudspeakers and inserted the cable from the side with the plugs open. With the connectors covered, the cable went straight in, so I figured there would be less mess on the back of my receiver. There would also be no bare cable as there would be with exposed connectors. I used 14 gauge wire. The wire was a little tight to get through the hole, but it

Pros
  • Got it!
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Great product at a reasonable price

The instructions were clear and the assembly went smoothly. I like to buy speaker wire from the Orange Box Store and adjust the length because standard department store speaker wire comes in consistent sizes of 6", 8" and 10" and the length can sometimes be too long or too short for your device The application cable is too long - you're wasting your money, the sound quality is a little degraded and you have extra cable length to wrap around in. I prefer to use banana plugs rather than twisting…

High quality with issues

Like their other products, Mediagridge banana plugs are better than average. I bought these banana plugs to finish off my new receiver. They're thicker than other banana plugs, which isn't an advantage if your receiver has tightly mated speaker terminals. Unlike other quality banana plugs, I found that the wire crimp had to be right or the top would be difficult to re-thread. If the copper wire is too short, it may be too weak for the top connector because the wire cavity is too large. I also…

Significant improvement in outdoor speaker performance

I've never had a problem with rust on speaker wire ends; So I never used speaker wire clamps or banana plugs. However, for some odd reason, I started getting rust on the wire ends of my outdoor speakers, to the point where the wire was detaching from the connection to the speaker. I still don't understand why this is happening lately. I suspect this was because I had the cables disconnected from the speaker for a period of time due to speaker maintenance or poor cable quality. To avoid…
