Device works well - laptop accessory

After some initial problems, I found that the USB-C cable that came with the docking station didn't work well with my new laptop, which has a Thunderbolt 4 port Cable with a Thunderbolt cable (Thunderbolt cable certified by Cable Matters) The docking station was working properly. I also tried the docking station with an old laptop and it worked with the cable that came with Mediagear. Thanks to Mediagear Customer Service for the help.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Annoyed

Strange input lag issue

This test is based on an Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition laptop and a 4K 60Hz monitor. I am using this dock to expand my new gaming laptop (Asus Rog Strix G513QY) into a workstation. Several USB peripherals, an Ethernet cable and a 4K monitor are connected to the docking station via HDMI. I've noticed a strange input lag on a 4K monitor through this dock. The display has a resolution of 4K 60Hz, but as soon as I drag a large window onto the screen, you notice a significant input lag. FPS…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers

  • Quality

Helps devices with missing ports

This Mediagear dock measures 10.4 x 5.3 x 4 inches and weighs just under 6 pounds. It includes 4 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB C ports, 2 HDMI ports, 2 DisplayPort ports, 1 Ethernet port (Gig Speed) and separate ports for audio input and microphone output. I'm using this dock for a new laptop that has the power it needs but lacks ports and has a monitor that's a bit smaller than what I plan to use when I'm at home. What I liked most about this Mediagear docking station: - Powered expansion options. This

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Good docking station except for the display limitation

I have to say I was a little disappointed with the 60Hz limit even with the Display Port. Even my budget ultrawide monitor can display 100 fps, but I have to cap it at 60 pixels when connected to this dock. Of course, if you're only using this for ports other than the display then this won't be a problem for you. Another caveat I should mention is that when you actually power your computer from this device, you may experience throttling. Problems since you are limited to 60 watts. I also…

Works on Dell XPS 15 in HD with USB X 3 and Wired Ethernet

We tested the Mediagear Dock with the new Dell XPS 1500 running Windows 10 Pro and it was able to power the laptop from the USB port . C and to run USB tasks. The power delivery is typical of old-school laptops, but of course the docking station does more for you. What's notable about this box is that it uses a standard, more readily available power cord, *not* IEC 60320 C5, 18AWG, 10A/1250W NEMA 5-15P cord, but a more common IEC NEMA 5-15P cord. 60320 C13 18AWG 10A/1250W 125V 3 PIN Why it's…
