I ordered these chairs with an old but durable children's table for my grandchildren when they come to "grandma's kindergarten". I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of assembly and the durability of the chairs. You look so cute with a freshly painted navy blue table. They are perfect for my granddaughters who are 1, 2 and 3 years old. My grandson, who is 6 years old, has been sitting in it quite normally so far. I even sat down at the table with the girls! One chair was fine and matched perfectly. The other chair had the seat all the way through the seat, and it's not something the customer assembles, it came that way from the factory. This chair also had a dowel hole drilled in the wrong place, it had to be re-drilled. This wasn't a big problem as I have a well equipped workshop, but it shouldn't have been necessary anyway. Very beautiful and durable. The wood is very hard and heavy, like maple or hickory. I stood on a chair to check it and it didn't wobble or resist at all. I am over 250 pounds. At first I didn't like the fact that the screw heads were open for aesthetic reasons, but over time all the connections loosen. Open sockets make tightening easier. All heads are Philips so no need to fiddle with a hex/hex key. The wood has a dry feel and is durable so I expect the chairs will outlive my kids childhood…

I was really looking forward to these chairs, I've wanted to get away from the small chair in the middle for a long time. Of course I didn't buy from the same place as the chair in the middle was handmade according to Montessori measurements. You can see it's built with a wider seat and less likely to tip over. We bought these for our kids to use with their study table. They are the perfect size for both our 18 month old and our 4 year old. In addition, they are very durable and fairly easy to assemble.
