🏗️ Melissa & Doug Preschool Cardboard Building Set Review

This was a great jigsaw puzzle for my 5 year old grandson and I to work together. The pieces are a bit small to pique his interest without my collaborating with him, but the collaboration was fun and high quality. Once complete, the puzzle includes images of marine life, adding another layer of challenge and fun. It was a typical Melissa and Doug quality product.

My 3 year old daughter is just starting to really like jigsaw puzzles and she LOVES this one! Even my 8 year old enjoys it with her. I love how colorful and diverse the sea creatures are and we have a lot to talk about as we put them together. The long, narrow shape makes it easier to maneuver around the puzzle without sitting on the piece, unlike some more square floor puzzles. The pieces fit tightly but easily. My 5 year old son loves putting this puzzle together! At first this was a test for him and he needed his sister's help. However, when he thought about it, he was able to put it all together by himself and he was so proud of himself. He called me to check out his work and he had such a big smile on his face. The puzzle itself is great. The size of the pieces is great for toddlers and the addition of a seek and find element is great and adds something special. The quality is pretty good. There were a few bits that seem a bit odd and one has a corner of the image peeling off which is a bit disappointing. The puzzle box itself was dented on one corner and on top. The outer box was fine, so it must have been packed like that. It's disappointing and if I had bought it as a gift I couldn't have given it…

My nephew flinched when he saw his own puzzle. He wanted to help us with our 2000 over the holidays and it was an adventure. The size of the pieces was perfect for his little hands. You won't lose them unless you physically move them to another location. We helped him, but once everything fell into place, he was able to identify animals, which worried him even more.
