I burned my last Verbatim BD-R before going straight to Memorex discs. The Verbatim Disc recorded perfectly and passed the test. I gave it four stars because I had a problem with the write speed detection software. I don't know if it's disc software related, but I've tried two different programs (Nero 2014 Platinum and the one that came with my burner) and each one says it can record at 12X, but then something ruins the discs (bad burns ). Considering the cost of original BluRay discs, backing up your collection is a must. The slightest scratch on a Blu-ray can render it unplayable. These discs work fine but they are single ply. Some of the currently sold multifunctional BDs are double density (50GB) and therefore work well as backup media in "some" but not "all" cases.

I have 200 GB of data to back up on LG BE08LU20 (latest firmware 2.0). And that's valuable data - photos and videos of my 2-year-old daughter earlier this year. I use Toast 10 Pro to write data with all plugins including Blu-ray plugins (latest patch too).
