Four failed disks in a row; Avoid this product

I burned my last Verbatim BD-R before going straight to Memorex discs. The Verbatim Disc recorded perfectly and passed the test. I expected that as all my 25 Verbatim 25GB BD-R discs performed extremely well. Right now I'm using Memorex disc #5 of 30. The previous 4 are now useless $1 coasters. I don't have 30 coffee mugs so maybe I'll use them instead of Christmas ornaments. Avoid this product. Don't buy I've never burned so many discs off the spindle in a row before. That's incredible. There…

Not something I've admired before

I recently posted a glowing review for the 4X version of this product. That's not it. 100% coasters, 100% of the time. Usually towards the end of the burn. And now, lest you think I'm just another fool who tried to burn at too high a speed or with outdated firmware. no These discs are crap. I've also tried two different burning programs, although I know better (desperation makes us all superstitious, right?): ImgBurn and Nero 12. Nope and nope. That hole in the middle means they even make…

Good CDs for the price

I gave it four stars because I had a problem with the write speed detection software. I don't know if it's disc software related, but I've tried two different programs (Nero 2014 Platinum and the one that came with my burner) and each one says it can record at 12X, but then something ruins the discs (bad burns ). I have to physically select 6x speed for each of my programs. It's just an annoyance, but that's not why it's 5 stars. It could also be my computer since I run both programs on it, but

Reasonable quality to backup your BluRay discs.

Considering the cost of original BluRay discs, backing up your collection is a must. The slightest scratch on a Blu-ray can render it unplayable. These discs work fine but they are single ply. Some of the currently sold multifunctional BDs are double density (50GB) and therefore work well as backup media in "some" but not "all" cases.

  • Glitter

  • Vulgarity

CHECK your data after registration!

I have 200 GB of data to back up on LG BE08LU20 (latest firmware 2.0). And that's valuable data - photos and videos of my 2-year-old daughter earlier this year. I use Toast 10 Pro to write data with all plugins including Blu-ray plugins (latest patch too). It has been burning since January with no complaints, and I asked Toast to verify the data after burning. But for February there are two coasters. Although the write was 100% successful, the toast data failed validation. That's because I'm…
