Very easy to assemble. The white gloves came in handy because of the metal dust that was on them. It should be good for kids as long as they are not attached to it. Mine currently has 2 flounces, a bed skirt, 2 different pairs of lights and a couple of faux flowers and I've had no problems in the 2 months I've had it so far.
