Used this razor for the first time today with a Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow blade. The gentle shave is very similar to my old 1967 Gillette Super Speed which is known for being as gentle as possible. Use a good Russian-made Gillette blade: Astra, 7 O'Clock, or Silver Blue. If the short 3 inch handle bothers you, get a longer one. They all have the same head. Great razor for DE razor newbies.

As someone who can seemingly grow a beard overnight, plastic razors definitely haven't cut it. I didn't buy this because a GQ article said I'd be a manlier man if I had a safety razor no no. My husband has one, he unboxed it on subscription and I stole it to shave my legs. This was a game changer for me! So I got this to replace him so he can cover his back and he's smaller than he said. Not long enough to do anything without my arm cramping. I gave it to him because it works to trim the edges of the beard but I really wish this was mine.
