Great shoes for outdoor activities

I bought these for my 6 year old son. They were bought at the end of winter to keep feet dry (from puddles and melting snow) and warm. He doesn't complain about the fit, but likes to wear larger socks due to the high-top style. The Velcro is comfortable, not as noticeable at the bottom due to the pre-tied laces, and I don't have to worry about tripping over the laces. It's spring now and he's still wearing them. He calls them his climbing shoes. They do not slip on slippery surfaces and are…

Pros
  • My grandson liked them very much and he was already on a good long journey. Really attractive for a hiking shoe.
Cons
  • The quick release design can wear out quickly with regular use

So I'm happy with that

They run a little big but I went the size I expected as I expected to get a shoe I can grow into.! So I'm happy with them. excelente.

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • Limited Warranty or Return Policy

love love love! good for me

I bought them as an alternative to running shoes for the winter. Boy am I glad I did! Easy entry and exit. They're a bit clumsy, but my six-year-old son doesn't seem to mind. Conveniently right out of the box. If you have a boy who is very picky about his shoes they are worth every penny and I would highly recommend them and they are not so casual that they can't be worn with khakis. I took a picture. Worn *almost* every day for a month and they still look brand new!

Pros
  • Nice and cozy!
Cons
  • May not be suitable for children with high arches.

Good quality shoes in my review.

The first pair ordered never arrived and our grandson didn't have them with us for a scouting trip. Revain sent another pair without hesitation when I started looking for shoes. When they arrived, says the grandson, they feel at home even on rough terrain. These are heavy, sturdy shoes. good support. These are NOT the lightweight shoes children wear now as they can literally be rolled into a ball. These are REAL shoes!

Pros
  • Great shoes!
Cons
  • Difficult to clean and maintain

This was a purchase for my 8 year old son who will only be wearing indoor soccer shoes so when he put them on for the first time I was a little worried if he would really like them or not. He did so and said it was the most comfortable shoe he had ever owned.

Pros
  • Grandson used them for 2 weeks at a scout rally at w Vbirginia loved them. Happy with the purchase.
Cons
  • The foam padding may shrink over time

. than normal street shoe sizes and they fit us perfectly

We buy our hiking/winter shoes one size larger than normal outdoor shoe sizes and they fit perfectly. My 7 year old daughter wore them to tubing so she could wear thicker socks with them. She loves the colors and the easy Velcro closure definitely helps when you don't want to fiddle with your laces in the cold snow. She can walk in it all day without discomfort. We plan to use them for our summer hikes.

Pros
  • fine
Cons
  • Buckles or straps can break with frequent use.

Heavy and not waterproof! Not recommended for children!

I bought them because the description said they were waterproof. I didn't want to wear them in a creek or river but I was expecting more water protection as I work in a grooming salon where we bathe dogs. Although we work in a humid environment, this is not always in the bathing area and can be compared to 'a little rain' as the amount of water gets on our feet when bathing the dogs. By the end of my first shift in them, having bathed 2 dogs that day, my feet were soaking wet (I could ring my…

Pros
  • Great.
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other kids hiking boot options.

Perfect for street shoes!

We love it! My daughter had a few that she outgrew and needed another pair for the muddy weather and just a sturdy little shoe for the kids!

Pros
  • Cool.
Cons
  • Maybe not the most stylish option for kids

They were perfect for the hike in his class and held his feet.

My kid loves these shoes, they were perfect for hiking with class and kept his feet dry and warm (he's a famous puddle jumper).

Pros
  • My son outgrew them a year ago but I'm keeping them in hopes someone else needs them - they're great shoes.
Cons
  • May not be suitable or comfortable for all children

Heavy and narrow in my rating

These shoes are heavy for a child and very tight. There is no room for the smallest insoles to support the arch of the foot. A disappointment for the prestigious Merell brand.

Pros
  • What a sturdy walking shoe for my 6 year old, perfect fit
Cons
  • Not suitable for wider or narrower feet

Good walking shoes in my opinion

Bought these for my 7 year old son and he loves them. At first he didn't like the lack of laces, but he's gotten used to it and finds it much easier to put on. They appear to be of good quality.

Pros
  • Good for my son just make them more durable because little boys often kick when walking.
Cons
  • The material may not be fully waterproof as advertised

great shoes in my opinion

The perfect shoe. I like that they are waterproof. My poor little grandson had shoes that kept his feet wet. Love her and he too. Glad I ordered 1/2 size bigger. He just got a size 2 and since they were expensive I ordered a 2-1/2 in hopes he could wear more. Glad they fit him.

Pros
  • The shoes are suitable for ages 10 and up. She has tried the shoe on several hikes and is doing well off-road.
Cons
  • Metal parts can rust if exposed to water

My son uses this feeling, he is 5 years old, they are great. Bought this for rainy days in Michigan to keep in shape, great for spring and fall. Merrell is super comfortable, excellent stability, beautiful appearance.

Pros
  • Walk a little. The child complains that the feet hurt in the first week. It seems to be a good waterproof shoe.
Cons
  • Not suitable for orthopedic insoles

Great shoes my pros and cons

My son had two pairs of these, they are great for hiking and climbing. The velcro is particularly good as it delays his fine motor skills.

Pros
  • a bit difficult
Cons
  • Limited breathability in warm weather

They are very comfortable and stylish

We bought these boots for my seven year old daughter. They are very comfortable and stylish and my daughter loves wearing them. She wore them both in field conditions and on concrete and did not complain of any pain in her legs. If you enjoy extreme hiking, be aware that the ankle support does not sit as high on the ankle as in adult hiking boots. I honestly don't know if it matters to the kid because we've walked in state parks and moderately rocky areas but only one day at a time. For your…

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Sole wears out in less than 3 months

My 7 year old son doesn't hike as much as my 10 year old who just got a hole in the sole of his shoe (another brand) after almost a month had year of use. When I was looking at these shoes the other day I had to calculate how long I had bought them because I couldn't believe it was almost three months. We live in a mild climate. No snow. You don't go to school. Appearance, fabric and leather well preserved. The insoles are intact and comfortable. Sometimes he complains about the uniform, and it

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky
