I bought them as an alternative to running shoes for the winter. Boy am I glad I did! Easy entry and exit. They're a bit clumsy, but my six-year-old son doesn't seem to mind. Conveniently right out of the box. If you have a boy who is very picky about his shoes they are worth every penny and I would highly recommend them and they are not so casual that they can't be worn with khakis. I took a picture. These shoes are heavy for a child and very tight. There is no room for the smallest insoles to support the arch of the foot. A disappointment for the prestigious Merell brand.
