Merrell Hilltop Quick Close Hiking Boys' Shoes: Efficient Footwear for Outdoor Adventures Review

My daughter loves this. She is so picky about shoes and I'm tired of buying cheap shoes and she ruins them. I bought these as multi-purpose hiking/rain shoes and she loves to wear them every day to school and on the weekends because they are comfortable and she doesn't have to tie them. They held up so well, didn't wear at all after being worn non stop for about a month by a kid who usually ruins their toes in a week.

My son, 6-7 years old, has had these boots for a year now. All I can say is that I am impressed with their durability and weather resistance. My son is in Cub Scouts and used them for a couple of dry hikes like this past weekend. Not only that, he also wears them to school. The sock is durable and shoes wear out much faster in the sock. When they finally wear out I will buy another pair.

I had high hopes for this shoe as I really wanted a waterproof option so kids could wade through puddles. My kids have never complained about the fit of shoes - boots, winter boots, tennis shoes, soccer shoes etc so I know they are pretty easy to fit and don't have any special requirements like narrow or wide etc. I was very excited about this (which is an important part of choosing a shoe for children), but immediately felt uncomfortable. Bought these for my little one and they look lovely and seem quite warm and water resistant but they are a bit bulky. I believe they fit most size 12 aged 4 but my toddler who is now 3 years old wears a size 12 so they are a bit uncomfortable for his 40 inch body with 35 pounds. But he says he really likes her, it just seems like he has a hard time walking or jogging like toddlers often do.

My daughter is 10 years old and wears a size 2.5-3. I bought her these 3.5 boots and they fit her perfectly. She walked with us along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu without any problems. She also loves the color and the velcro meant no one had to wait to lace her up and she was able to join in without falling behind. We didn't get a chance to break it in so she used it new and was able to walk 10 straight hours without getting blisters.

The shoes were very good, but she couldn't put them on because they weren't high enough on her ankles. Thanks for the quick and uncomplicated return!

I bought a pair for my son and another pair for my daughter. Both kids love these boots and haven't had a single complaint about the fit or comfort.

My kid really liked these shoes. They're a little on the thick side and a little on the heavy side. I will buy more when they grow up.

They've been fine since I broke them in, but what I liked best about my other two pairs of Merrell boots (also Big Boys sized) is that they were comfortable from day one without breaking them in at all to have to. There's definitely something tough about these tops. Maybe it's velcro?

Great shoes for my Boy Scout. Needs some rest before long hikes as the shoe sits higher on the foot/ankle than the running shoes my son is used to but he says they are now comfortable for long hikes/runs.

My son is the only one who wears waterproof boots and loves that he can walk on the water and keep his feet dry. They fit as expected, are of good quality and keep feet dry while hiking.

The shoes are nice and fit as expected, but one of the lace rings came loose and sagged on the first day of use. It doesn't affect the function of the shoe but is very disappointing (even more so from a brand like Merrel whose shoes are considered timeless) and if you look closely you may notice a defect. t. stop seeing it. . It is impossible to return them as I am not in the United States.

Overall a great pair for everyday wear. It takes a little time to get rolling. First you can start healing. Waterproof and easily washable. Goes great with any outfit!

Ordered these for my daughter so she can go camping in no time. They arrived on time (thanks Revain Prime!) and fit perfectly. She wore them all weekend and had no problems with them. They kept her feet dry as she walked through the dewy grass.

My 6 year old daughter loves them. They are comfortable and good for cool days. It's well made and we haven't had any issues with it. Costs money.

These boots are amazing. My grandson doesn't want to wear boots to school so I bought him these. They're waterproof and offer the protection he needs in and out of school without having to wear big, unwieldy boots. We all love Merrell products, you simply can't go wrong with Merrell products.

Received these for our daughter at the end of May for our hike. No complaints, fits exactly. Our daughter still likes to wear them to school sometimes, although they are more suitable for camping. The Bungie tip broke after a few months.

Love her! My baby loves them too. These shoes and my 6 year old son survived a week of rain and snow in Iceland. My toddler fell through several ice floes and crawled through the water at the foot of waterfalls and it kept his feet dry and warm the whole time. The best part is they still look brand new! Can absolutely recommend this shoe!

They are definitely waterproof, my daughter doesn't get wet feet. They are durable and comfortable according to my 8 year old's reviews. She fished for several hours and never once complained of pain in her legs or wet feet. She loves them so much she wears them to school every day and they look like I just took them out of the box. Highly recommended!

My daughter ran 12 miles in these boots for the first time. They were comfortable and the food didn't blister even on the first day! They are true to size and the velcro is secure.
