Review on Merrell Hilltop Quick Close Hiking Boys' Shoes: Efficient Footwear for Outdoor Adventures by Rahul Schatz

I had high hopes for this shoe as I really wanted a waterproof option so kids could wade through puddles. My kids have never complained about the fit of shoes - boots, winter boots, tennis shoes, soccer shoes etc so I know they are pretty easy to fit and don't have any special requirements like narrow or wide etc. I was very excited about this (which is an important part of choosing a shoe for children), but immediately felt uncomfortable. It's hard to explain to a 6 year old exactly why, but upon examination the volume of the shoe above the instep and under the arch of the foot seems noticeably different to any other shoe my 6 year old has worn and felt really unwell. Strange for such a renowned brand. Unfortunately, there aren't many waterproof options, so we only bought tennis shoes. I would like to recommend the best waterproof model. If anyone has good success with other brands let me know!
