    KEYHOLE IS NOT HERMETIC

I liked the closed lock as it is at the back of the car. BUT THE KEY COVER DOES NOT LOCK INTO A TOUCH OR ANYTHING to allow access to the locked keyhole. SO DIRT AND WATER CAN STILL ENTER.

    Cons
    • Expensive

It works best for us when towing objects and winches.

The store installed our Curt hitch pretty close to the power plug and we couldn't use the standard hitch lock. This was the only one that worked for us. It's still too early to talk about how it will perform when used. So far, so good.

    • No Instructions

    Better lock design

I bought another lock hitch that has a key slot that fits the hitch pin. It's difficult to lock because the pin turns when you try to turn the key. The vertical mechanism makes it easier for you to unlock the pen. The locking end snaps into the clutch pin when locking, no key required.

    Cons
    • Cord shorter than other picks

Be careful - they are not designed for all hitches.

This locking pin cannot be used with my factory Jeep Cherokee clutch. The mounting cap on this pen is too thick from the keyhole to the end of the cap. So be careful, if there is less than a full inch of space between the hitch hole and the rear reinforcement plate on the hitch, this locking pin will not fit your hitch.

Keyhole cover does not protect against dirt

I bought and installed 8 months ago. Today I tried to unlock it but it's full of dirt. The lid over the keyhole is very loose and ineffective. I can't even insert the key on a few attempts and can't get it to turn at all when it retracts. Visible dirt fell out on the first try. I'm going to grab some dry lube today to try and get it working. (It'll probably be good to have handy in the RV anyway, with those 47 locks and all 😆) One more thing, all the videos online tell you to use DRY lube…
