Perfect for fitting an aftermarket head unit to a factory amp

Replaced the factory stereo with a 1997 Ford F-150 Lariat (premium sound). I didn't want to mess with the factory wiring. This harness allowed me to connect to the RCA outputs of a new head unit and drive a factory amp. If you're looking for high performance this probably isn't the way to go, but if you're just trying to get an aftermarket unit to work properly with this year's Ford equipped with premium sound, perfect.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Nothing

Doesn't work for radio harnesses

I bought this item after reading another review that it doesn't work. I have to agree, less than half of the socks are actually related to anything. When I was done, my new radio turned on just fine, but nothing that could send sound to the speakers was connected properly. I pulled out the wiring diagrams for my Nissan Quest and many of the wires in the harness were not connected to what they were supposed to connect to the car, very poor design, it went in the bin.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So-so

Perfect fit for a Ford JBL system

I bought this harness to install a secondary receiver on a 1995 Ford Ranger with a Ford Premium audio system. Works great for me, just plugged into the pre out jacks on a new stereo and plugged the jack into the factory wiring harness. I connected the black shield ground wire to the ground of the backup power connector. The wiring harness easily integrated the factory amp into my setup and avoided using a bypass amp harness to connect my speakers to my new stereo. Excellent goods!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Some small things

Not for 97 Lincoln Mark VIII with JBL Premium Sound

Not for 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII with JBL Premium Sound. I've spent a lot of time taking apart the wiring and trying to get it to work. I have a complete wiring diagram for this car. If you only used the signal cable (+) (center electrode), it carries the sound to the amplifier. But there is a lot of signal noise. The outer shield connects to the (-) speaker wire in the wire harness, grounding the signal. I believe that the fact that the secondary amplifier is intended for speaker level inputs…

Pros
  • Feel Good
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Save your money on Auto & Elektronik

Description was wrong at first. In fact, this is the amp's "integration harness". Alright Creatures, I did some research on my site, this was exactly the product I was looking for. Well, that's if he did what is stated in the MFG. site. I wanted to replace the factory stereo in my '96 Lincoln Mark 8 with something that would play on my iPod. My car has a factory JBL audio system. Several stereo dealers told me I would have to forego the entire installation as aftermarket stereos would not work…

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Negative experience
