Front Speaker Adapter for Select Lexus and Toyota Vehicles - Metra 82-8146 6x9 Review

Got this for my wife's 2008 4runner, fits perfectly, only gripe is there is no speaker wire cutout behind this adapter. Since I am connecting the aftermarket speaker to a standard wire harness adapter, the cable was very long and did not fit all the way behind the speaker due to the location of the aftermarket speaker terminals. This is an easy fix, I used a drill to make the cuts at the top and all behind the speaker as intended. Maybe a hint for future models?

This worked well on my 2010 Toyota Prius. After drilling out the rivets, I used appropriately sized sheet metal screws to attach the bracket to my door. It fits snugly, doesn't rattle and has good torque at the prop. I used the screws that came with the speaker to attach the speaker to the bracket. However, I have found that it is possible to easily remove the plastic with the screws if too much force is applied, but all of mine are tight, again no noticeable vibration on any of the mounting…

Purchased for 2014 Toyota Tacoma DC. Fits perfectly. The screw slots for the speaker were a little different than the Focal ISS 690 I installed, but that's okay. The bottom left hole is round and you should start from there, then the top left, then the right. In this case, all the holes lined up nicely with the door frame.
