Don't waste money

If you think you might want to buy this for the early 2000's Nissan Xterra, don't worry. It only covers the very small space left open when installing the 2-DIN radio. It broke and after gluing it 3 times and it still didn't fit I gave up. Just not worth the money, time or frustration.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Upgrades

Very weak - Electrical

I put this on the table to put in my car the other day. While prepping I accidentally sneezed in the direction of the kit and it broke. When I tried to glue it it broke again. I carefully placed it back on the soft towel I had placed on the table and it broke a third time.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some small things

Terrible design, makes no sense in ANY car.

Not sure what car this model was designed for, it obviously doesn't work in any car let alone my Infiniti QX4 which it's supposed to be compatible with. Don't buy that, I would buy another universal dual mount and then adjust it as you can. I ended up doing that and this solution is way better than this crap.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Bad experience

I'm not sure if that really fits.

I bought this fairing kit to install a double din radio in a 2004 Pathfinder. With the necessary brackets to hold the radio in place, there is NO space (or holes) to mount this pad. In fact, the bulky case that came with the aftermarket radio had to be cut to fit the Nissan radio hole. The compatibility guide says it fits Pathfinder 04. It doesn't. Easy returns and quick refunds from the seller so many thanks to Revain and the seller but the item didn't find my claim.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • All OK

the same nonsense. Broken on arrival

I installed a new head unit on my 2004 Nissan Xterra. Without this frame the installation would look unfinished. However, as mentioned in other reviews, the product is very cheap and flimsy. The first one I ordered came in a box with other items and was already broken in the packaging. It's okay, it's ten bucks, so I ordered another one. No, it's the same nonsense. Broken upon arrival. I sent it back for a refund. I glued the less broken part together and added some plastic strips for…

Doesn't fit as well as advertised

Well this thin piece of plastic does the job of covering the edges of my main unit but doesn't fit very well. The side protrusions don't match the sides of my main unit. No screws are supplied and the tabs come off VERY easily. I had to tape them to keep them from falling off during installation. I couldn't even screw the tabs to the side of my device as I had to use factory mounts. So I ended up having to put a few drops of glue on the edge of my main unit and stick it there to hold it in…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Speed of operation

Good for the price, needs to be prepared

The price is cheap so nothing to expect. The pieces are still attached to the plastic petals, so you'll need to snap them off and cut off the little tabs. The problem is that the side tabs are a bit thick so depending on the length of the screw it may not connect to the stereo unless you drill a bit into the plastic tabs to countersink them. The part where the side cleats connect to the square main frame also has issues. The plastic has two different textures, making it even cheaper. In my case

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • I will add later

Broken when opening the package

This item broke when I opened the plastic bag it came in. Unfortunately, no one does this, so you have no other options. I used Gorilla Glue to fix it which was less of a hassle than the return process. The bracket parts are made of plastic, the frame is made of thin, twisted plastic. Very cheap stuff. I had to file in several places to keep everything smooth. There was extra plastic and bumps, like building a model airplane or something. It didn't even sit flush with the stereo, so if you…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Good (necessary) buy

I bought this to install with a Pioneer FHX-720BT 2-DIN CD receiver. I had an appointment with the Best Buy Geek Squad to install my radio but unfortunately this kit was out of stock. So my brilliant idea was to find it through Revain and have it delivered overnight so I could install it on schedule. It was very difficult to track and I needed to know by 6pm the night before that I still received it, but the Revain representative couldn't seem to confirm that I had received it that evening…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
