🔧 Metra 99-8220 Standard Black Installation Kit for 2007-2009 Toyota Tundra/Sequoia - Single/Double DIN - Efficient Solution Review

I finally settled on this Metra kit for the deck below. The deck causes some issues when I had to drill out this kit to fit it, but overall this kit fitted my 2010 Tundra perfectly. The flat/matte black is a bit prone to cracking, so I might end up replacing it with a glossy grey/black, but overall the setup is nice and clean.

Paired this with my Jensen VX7020 unit which I installed in a single cab Tundra in 2007. The set turned out to be pretty complete and had everything (and more) than I needed. There were a few things that needed to be done during installation that made me a bit nervous as an installer, mainly due to the fact that I had to cut/cut the main body to allow a double din block to be used. Suitable for large 2-din stereo systems. I bought a 7 inch Android device (carjoyingdotcom) and when it arrived I couldn't fit the Scosche overlay - the hole was too small, the stereo was too big. I tried to cut it but it looked awful. I contacted Scosche to see if they had fairing kits for oversized units - they said they didn't.
