Amazing value for money DAC amp

I've been using this DAC amp for about three weeks now and I want to share my experience with it. The sound from this little thing is amazing, clear and loud. It overclocks the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Premium at 600 ohms very well. No distortion or anything to complain about. The sound is very, very good, on par with more expensive DAC amplifiers. The value for money is amazing, especially considering you can connect speakers to it and control everything from the device. It was plug and play in my…

Excellent DAC/Headphone Amp

Excellent DAC/Headphone Amp! It works for me on my Hifiman HE-400i and it sounds fantastic. But what really sets it apart is the opportunities it offers you. The ability to use USB and optical inputs as well as a headphone or preamp output is amazing. I connected it to my computer via USB and have an audio output from my TV to the OriGen's optical input. I then have a preamp for my desktop speakers. This allows me to connect to my computer or TV using either headphones or desktop speakers. All…

Bought to use with my new Fostex T50RP Mk3 headphones. I love it! Can control both my headphones and my Powered Monsoon Planar PC speakers with a simple switch press to switch between them. It's USB powered and supports 24-bit 192kHz music and also automatically sets the bitrate when you use the WASAPI plugin with a program like Foobar2000 or any other music program that supports that particular Windows sound driver to allow the application to bypass Windows sound and send raw music to Origin…

Great DAC/amp for your computer with great headphone performance

I was looking for a good DAC/amp combo but as this will be my first I didn't want to break the bank. I've tried doing a little research online - unfortunately, it seems like a lot of people are either focused on one brand or think that you have to go all out on your first set and spend over $350 to get something that sounds great to get. I hate to disappoint them, but the OriGen G2 will do it - not only does it sound great and have the features I wanted, it was less than $110 at the time of…

Outstanding sound and quality!

I'm testing the OriGen G2 on a MacPro 2016/Mojave with a Samson SR850/32ohm kit (cheap but incredible headphones) and the Boom app for iOS. I used SYBA SD-DAC63057 24bit/96KHz before but decided to get a better DAC. I did a lot of research and decided between OriGen G2, Fiio K3 and Schiit Fulla 2. I haven't tried the other two, but I'm very happy with the first impressions of the OriGen G2. In terms of quality, this thing is built to last. Beautiful construction and finish. It feels solid. I…

Plugged in and still can't put the headphones down

This is a great little amp/DAC. This is my first step beyond using the built-in audio on my PC or mobile phone. It certainly helps increase the volume of what I'm hearing, which is a welcome change. I use Monolith M560 and it's great. Although I don't have a critical analytical ear, sonically I just seem to bring everything up; The mids are a bit more than the bass, the highs a bit more, but that's not bad. works out of the box with Windows 10; I originally used an optical cable to power a…

OriGen2 is the perfect DAC/amplifier for the DT770

I bought a pair of DT770s to replace a 15 year old Bose TriPort at work. The DT770s are great, but I've started noticing some noise on my workstation. . It turned out that the built-in sound card is not the best. Now it's up to you to find a desktop DAC/amplifier. Oh God. There are so many options and so many opinions. And I wanted to keep my budget at around $100. I checked out Fulla 2 but people have strong opinions on both sides of the barricades. I looked at various FiiO products. They seem

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

I wanted to go from a bulky receiver that I no longer used for anything other than headphones to a dedicated headphone amp. I tried Schiit Modi and Magni v1 first, but I didn't like some things about them. Unfortunately due to being on a budget I decided to go with a product that wasn't made in America and went for it. However, like many knives, this appears to be a quality product; one of those rare jewels of Asia that is well built. The processing is solid, the processing is clean, the device

An extraordinarily small device that does its job perfectly.

For background information I have been evaluating various DACs over the last few months and currently I have 6 for comments and ratings - they are iFi ZenDAC, Soundavo HP-DAC1, Schiit Modi 3, SABAJ D3, FX Audio X6 and Micca OriGen 2. I'm constantly switching between them using two excellent passive (tank built) GOHIFIAUDIO S1 RCA audio switches. . This switcher model can work with 4 different audio devices with virtually no signal loss or distortion. You can find it here on Revain at (just copy
