Excellent cable, heavy jacket, rigid

I ran this cable in my 4 bedroom house. My office was downstairs when we moved in and I had plumbing running from the ground floor to the attic. From there I installed a single point for each room in the house, plus 3-4 extra lines for cameras and extra backups. The descents were fairly smooth, but the cable was difficult to pull through the line. I have about 12 leads going through a 2 inch duct. After about 4 lines it got difficult. The last 2-3 I really struggled to get him to move one foot…

This cable works for 10GbE, but 10Gb can be tricky

Just started testing this cable a few weeks after yesterday's install and found I'm getting 100Mbs - yeah, not once 1GB. I tried several patch cords without success, 100 Mbit/s. I then replaced my keystones (cheap on eBay but rated 6A) but still no luck. I thought it was the cable. I made a cable the same length as the one I installed in the wall, put keystones on it and used the same 6A patch cords (purchased from Revain). I have 1GB. I thought it must be this cable. I then connected RJ45 to…

Pros
  • Comes on a handy spool

Offers excellent bandwidth but requires patience to install connectors

After researching the options available for my home network, this cable has met my needs and will do more in the future as fulfilled foreseeable future. While Cat 7 and 8 offer up to 4x throughput, device cost, power consumption, and length limitations far outweigh the benefits of slightly faster speeds. This cable's shielding provides additional protection against crosstalk when routed over Ethernet-side cables and coaxial cables. The difficulty with this cable is primarily due to the physical

  • Negative signal present
