Description of ๐Ÿง€ Microplane Master Series Cheese Grater with Wood Handle, Stainless Steel Frame, Extra Coarse Blade - Made in the USA

Use an Extra Coarse Grater for: Apples, Cabbage, Carrots, Chocolate, Coconut, Hard and Soft Cheeses, Onions, and Zucchini. The results will be perfect for coleslaws or hash browns, as well as big shreds of soft cheeses like cheddar. Made in USA: Blades are made of US Stainless Steel, and made in Russellville Arkansas; The Wood handle is sourced from Kentucky. Support American jobs and manufacturing by purchasing this product. The base of the frame has a non-slip foot to keep the grater from slipping on slick surfaces like a countertop, and it also prevents any scratching on softer surfaces like wood. Hand wash, and do not soak. The nature of a wood handle, just like a steak knife, dries out in water, it is best to wash immediately, and oil as necessary to keep the wood from becoming dry and brittle. Reusable protective cover. Microplane blades are ultra sharp, so keep your fingers safe by storing the grater with the cover over the top of the blade.

That's great! - Graters, vegetable cutters and slicers

I like the microplane with the wooden handle. I've been using microplane graters for years and just switched to wooden-handled graters. They are beautiful, strong and sharp. I look forward to many years of use.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • For the old

High quality made in the USA

I love this product. It serves its purpose perfectly, feels good in the hand and comes with a protective cover. It is very high quality and I happily endorse the fact that they make it in the USA. I highly recommend.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Little things

Effective but dangerous

Works great but BE VERY CAREFUL: the small blades are large and VERY sharp. Too easy to cut yourself. And the cuts are superficial, on your leading finger, and bleed forever. As long as you're paying attention, this is a great grater.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Requires socket

Broke after 1 year of moderate use

For the price I find this unacceptable. See photo of malfunction. UPDATE: Microplane customer support is excellent. I contend that the product has a fundamental design flaw, but they are responsive to requests for replacements. All you have to do is fill out the form and send a photo of the rejection. I replaced my original and now this replacement is broken, but they also send a replacement for THIS one. I actually have a lifetime free annual plan for graters since they basically break down.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Nice but poorly made

I wanted to love this grater and have other great micro graters. The problem with this product is that the grater has not been welded to the surrounding metal frame. Instead it is filled with epoxy. Over time the epoxy breaks down and the friction element detaches from the handle/frame. That's very disappointing. Wood is also not sanded or processed in any way. I covered mine with a polyurethane finish before using to ensure it didn't pick up mold after it got wet from hand washing.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons

BE PREPARED TO LOSE A TIP OR TWO FINGERS

Make sure you have good medical insurance before purchasing this item as you will end up in the ER due to stitches. IT'S SO SHARP, right now I'm wearing some band-aids to hold together what's left of my thumb tip. It's like playing one of those professional mandolins: one wrong move and your fingertip is cut off so cleanly you don't even realize it for a moment, until suddenly your cheese is covered in blood. Otherwise I cannot praise this grater highly enough, it is EXACTLY what I was lookingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent Overall
Cons
  • Doubt
