You can use the part that helps push the veggies through.

Could have used a part to help push the veg through as only about 75% is cut just before it has to stop to avoid peeling the skin.

Pros
  • Paleo and Gluten Free Zoodles! Quickly turn veggies into zoodles for frying, or use this cooking tool in the kitchen to make gluten-free pasta substitutes. It works like a pencil sharpener, applying pressure, pushing veggies through the barrel and twisting to create beautiful ribbons of veggies.
Cons

Works perfectly! suitable for grater

I like this product because it makes thin, continuous strips of zucchini. It's a bit tricky to get the ends of the zucchini, but I just leave them the next day to sautΓ© with the onions.

Pros
  • Dishwasher safe: easy to clean! Rinse under running water to remove any particles (a soft bristle brush may also be needed) and then wash thoroughly in the top rack of the dishwasher. The plastic body of the Microplane Spiralizer is BPA-free.
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Nice spirals, but a disappointing amount of zucchini at the end.

Makes pretty zucchini spirals but you have to be careful or you could cut your fingers. Only thing Problem - you lose the middle of the spiral zucchini and waste a fair bit.

Pros
  • Compact design: small enough to fit in a drawer; This tool is easy to store and easy to hold. Dimensions (W x H x D): 2.75" x 2.25" x 5.25"
Cons
  • Something else

small but inefficient

The first vegetable I tried was a hard pumpkin. Unfortunately, the result was mashed zucchini. I realized that the spirilizers need hard veggies, this may require frozen ones. I've put this purchase in my giveaway stack. bp

Pros
  • Two barrels fit most vegetables! This kitchen gadget has a small and large barrel built in to hold both thin and thick vegetables. A small barrel is great for making vegetable ribbons from narrow root vegetables like carrots and radishes. In comparison, a larger barrel is perfect for preparing zucchini, squash, or salads with sliced cucumber.
Cons
  • The string is shorter than other picks
