🐕 MaxxLock Exercise Pen for Pets by MidWest Homes Review

We love these pens. Now we have four of them and we use them when we go camping. We're making a nice garden for our girls so they can see what's going on. Easy entry and exit through the gate. We have four small dogs that don't jump against the paddock. We have been using these pens for about 5 years and would recommend them to anyone. Passing the gate is required.

We have a "lab puppy" that jumps out of another playpen. He can't jump out. He has enough space to play with his toys and likes to take a nap here - he has a blanket to snuggle up in. It's too big for our 5 month old pup to snuggle up by himself at times so we switch to the crate for naps but it's good for holding back the work day. However, our puppy is already potty ready.

Handles don't stand very well on their own, for indoor use I had to squeeze them between walls and furniture and attach them to baseboards with eye hooks; For outdoor use, it had to be reinforced with stakes so that the puppy could not turn it over when jumping onto the segments. Use should be supervised, the dog should not wear a collar, it is easy enough to hang up, especially on the hooks that close the door. Midwest crates are better.

I specifically chose this pen because the photo shows that there is a smooth part of the handle at the end of the handle. Instead, the gate is at the end. If the pen is arranged in a circle or rectangle, that's great. But I use handles to separate the space in my house when we have a company or workers working in that area of the house. Bought a few months ago to make more room for a 110 lb 17 month old mestizo from the Great Pyrenees who is still learning house manners when I'm away. I also bought two extra panels. I haven't used it for potty training so I can't comment on that. Attached to his large cage and there is room for him to run around and for his large bed. I would not recommend this exercise pen. I have purchased Midwest Homes cages for my dogs and am very happy with them. However, the pen is unusable. I have two puppies, about 4 pounds each, and I ordered a pen before bringing them home. The pen was missing the angle stabilizers, which should have been included (prior to ordering, I called the company and was assured that the stabilizers would be included, although this was not mentioned on the box or in the instructions).
