Not much opportunity in real estate law

I worked for this organization as an intern while attending school at UCLA Law School; however after graduation it was difficult finding employment within their field (real property). There were many opportunities available with other firms but they would not hire me due to my lack experience or background knowledge regarding California Real Estate Laws/ Rules etc.. It can be very frustrating when you know that there are so few jobs out here specifically tailored towards your degree program…

Pros
  • They truly care about providing training, networking events
  • The opportunity is endless if one works hard enough.
  • Great environment great staff
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Exceptional environment, well rounded colleagues from varied industries

I worked at MNGD for about 10 years as an Associate Attorney (and now Senior Counsel). It was never boring there! In fact it seemed like every day we were learning something new or working with interesting cases that kept us engaged all year long - which made my workday feel much more productive than most firms where you just do your job over again each week/month without any sense of accomplishment after awhile. There are many benefits but here they include diversity across practice areas…

Pros
  • Great place
  • Very diverse group
  • Nice people, lots going on professionally.
  • Lots o' options if u want variety from one firm..but still under ONE roof :)
Cons
  • No "frequent flyer" points system ; ) That is why i'm leaving soon.lol ;) Otherwise no complaints really.
  • Too expensive compared w those local alternatives? Ugh...they seem pricey even
