The French press lid is meant to cover the pot while the coffee is being made, but this press lid has a large gap that allows steam to escape. Due to the shape of the spout, the coffee drips onto the table/floor. I tried to save a few bucks and definitely regretted it. Do not buy this item.

This thing would be a great toy if it weren't made of glass! Useless as a French Press! The stainless steel filter mechanism is partially plastic and attached to a standard stainless steel frame. The problem is that the part that should allow the stylus to be unscrewed for cleaning is also plastic and will NOT separate from the stylus. It's melted together so it can't be cleaned properly. I sent a scrap back this morning.

I had a $17 French Press in my cart but at the last minute I changed it for this $9 one. I only read reviews after I've bought it when everyone says it doesn't take heat and breaks on contact with hot coffee. Well it happened to me on the very first try, same day it arrived. A crack appeared at the bottom and a hole from which everything follows. I have probably bought thousands of items from Amazon over the years and this is the worst I have ever received.

This is my first French Press. Although I rarely drink coffee, I heard about these presses and have always wanted to try them. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I really like this French press. When I bought it I thought it was a bit extravagant as I already had another brand. I'm so glad I did compare the two. I had to buy a separate strainer for the old one so there was no coffee grounds in my cup. The new one pushes the earth to the ground in 5 minutes, in one big swing. I bought this French Press because I was looking for an inexpensive way to make a cup of coffee in the morning. A month and 3/4 later I can say it hasn't broken and is still serving me well. I'll say I'm not the best judge of coffee quality - I've used Keurig before (and I'll probably return to it if I ever get counter space again) and figured it would be ok if it was on mine Level indicates coffee snobbery.
