While this is a decent fan, I turned it down because of its hum (which I can't hear very well) and poor installation instructions. There are many steps that are not detailed enough, so a lot of trial and error is required. In the last 15 months I have purchased 6 of these fans for our new home. I just installed the 6th. This took about 40 minutes. The initial appeal of this fan was its flat white color with short suspension and minimalist appearance. They "snuggle up" (relatively speaking) to the blanket and since our blankets are even white, they harmonize perfectly with it. There are 3 blades but they work great. There are 3 speeds. At low speed they are almost inaudible, but there is a pleasantly quiet breeze.
