Better than I thought it would be.

Great little tool. I used it for a fireworks display on New Year's Eve and was impressed with the range and performance. I will mainly be using it for summer lighting so no review yet. The application works without any problems. Very small learning curve for this trigger. It is very well thought out to work with simplicity. So far, so good.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Unthinking

I've been waiting for this for over ten years

Sound activation was tested, very promising. I haven't had a chance to test the flash action yet, instead I tested it with a flash, it worked fine. I believe that in the real situation, there must be some sensitive adjustments. The functionality of the laser pointer is excellent, there have been no complaints so far. I use a 7r2 camera.

Pros
  • Noble design
Cons
  • No automatic

MIOPS Smart+ is a great sensor with many features. I tried it with my a7R III to shoot lightning on a stormy night and it didn't live up to my expectations. I know not every flash sensor is 100% accurate, but this one seems to have missed more than I expected. Promotions, I was sold and decided to return this one. In addition to the flash function, it is worth buying other MIOPS Smart+ features if you use them (time-lapse, motion, sound and laser trigger).

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Reliability

It's not flawless... but very handy to have.

It's not a perfect device, but it's easy to carry. You can use it as a remote shutter release…. and everything is controlled via your mobile phone. Nightscapes, lightning, time-lapse, thunderstorms…. There are profiles for all these situations. You need to know a little bit about your camera. If you expect it to do all the work for you, you'll be disappointed. I have had the MIOPS trigger for over a year now. I had no issues with the unit's body, but the connector to my Sony a7iii almost broke…

  • Sturdy design

  • Delicate

Can only trigger camera once every 500ms

I ordered this to capture splashes and after a few tests it seems to be working. However, it fires up the camera too slowly to capture more than a shot or two at a time. I didn't see any mention of it before buying it. But sure enough, the instruction manual I found online says the camera can only trigger the camera twice a second at most. For reference, I'm shooting with a Sony A7ii. In single-shot or slow-continuous trigger mode, the trigger fires at 2 frames per second. In continuous high…

The MIOPS trigger works very well for some things. I put balloons, ice cream and fruit drops in the water. The laser trigger works incredibly well. Just got down to latency after a few tries and got some great shots. The audio was a little harder to dial in, especially with the water balloons. I ended up having to either turn the sensitivity all the way down or leave air in the tank to make a louder pop. With the sensitivity up, it worked too easily. I tried it during a small storm I had during

Lots of Fun: Trigger Cords

I really like this smart trigger. There are literally endless uses for it. It will take some time to get used to using it and to learn all the different features. I really like using it to create long repeating frames, but it can do so much more. There's a sensor to detect lightning, as well as a laser monitor that triggers the camera to take a picture when the laser beam is broken. You can even set up a custom scene where an exposure is triggered after certain criteria are met. There are a lot
