pretty good. Best in Spare Parts

Let's see how to hook it up it's not a problem especially as I had the best connectors so I didn't have to use the ones they send. However, I feel that the most important thing this kit is missing is a printed dial so you know where the temperature is set. It wasn't easy to get both fans running at the same time and spinning as close as possible. Although I have to say that this is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. However, they work well.

Pros
  • Pretty package
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Not fully waterproof

The controller is great, but if they use a plug to prevent moisture from getting into the controller, switch. You'd think the rest of the wiring and connectors would be waterproof too. The equipment provided is rubbish as stated by other comments. It took me a good hour to have a beer, tape the connections and wrap the cables in a good loom. The device will be a great working waterproof controller when I'm done with it.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Junk connector for a $70 investment (X2)

The plastic rectangular connector with all the wires is NOT included in the relay control box no matter how you twist it to line up with the contacts. I had to remove each wire one at a time and connect them leaving them open. It's garbage after paying $70 (X2). The wiring and instructions were good and the device itself appears to be well made, only time will tell. I gave it 1/5 stars, again for $70 a unit, the connector shouldn't be oriented that way.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled

Perfect/flawless for fans and parts

This kit is matched with 12 inch slim Mishimoto fan. Works flawlessly! The instructions leave a lot to be desired. If you plan to do this, watch a few YouTube videos of this kit and learn good ignition signal placement for your application. You're good to go. The thermostat settings were surprisingly easy to adjust too! With a lifetime warranty and a solid reputation, I feel my car is in safe hands. Florida summer traffic jams are no longer a stress and my air conditioning seems to be working…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Great item for fan control.

I used a coolant sensor to control an electric fan on my 83 year old Mustang. I couldn't get a reliable sensor that worked and didn't keep the fan running constantly once the temperature was reached. I bought this kit and just set it to my thermostat opening temperature and it works great. When driving on the freeway the fan turns off letting air cool the radiator and when I drive into town at lower speeds it turns on and cools down like it should! Great item if you use an electric fan.

  • Automotive

Buy Perma-Cool

Cheap Chinese plastic, poor quality connectors The wiring supplied is not long enough for a clean factory install. The pins do not align or stay in place. The only way to install is to destroy the connector and start over. Thought I'd try the Mishimoto instead of my regular Perma-Cool controller for triple the price. I see and hear that name all the time so I figured it was a quality product. If they build such a simple fan controller I would hate to see their heatsinks, radiators and…

Missing Parts, Easy Install

Installing the Universal Sensor Fan Relay is easy and a great option if you are looking for a cost effective electric fan retrofit. Unfortunately, when I opened the package today, many parts were missing (butt connectors, ring terminals) and to make matters worse, the inferior Tamiya connectors had badly bent pins, so I just had to cut them off and solder high-quality connectors. Time will tell as to durability but I would advise opening the box and perusing the entire contents. I bought 6…

Does the job, but some of the hardware is junk.

This kit does the job. However, given the price, I am very disappointed with the included connection hardware. All of the crimp connectors were so bad that I just threw them away after not crimping them properly to the wires. I don't think it was user error as I've used many of these devices in the past with no issues. The relay harness was also exceptionally difficult to install properly; The terminals were so loose that the male and female ends did not seat properly. I ended up having to pull
