I thought it was more

Sorry that was too easy. I can't help but laugh every time I see someone write this in a review. Apparently reading the dimensions is too difficult. Hey, maybe you need one of these! This is Mitutoyo. Extremely good quality. I've been a locksmith for almost 35 years. Mitutoyo is on par with Starrett, Brown and Sharp or one of the Swiss manufacturers. It's a damn good pocket scale. Good weight and very well labeled for easy reading. My only complaint, and a very small one, is that this model is…

Powerful suction cup for measuring and marking tools

It's my own fault for not reading how thick this thing is. It's a hard, inflexible piece of steel. I was looking for a thinner model similar to those I've used in the past. But after running this line for a couple of weeks, it's really, really good. I never have to worry about accidentally bending it. Its thickness makes it a great ruler on my desk. I don't worry about the pen slipping because the edge is too thin. I ordered a thinner model which is closer to my previous expectation because I…

Good quality, easy to read

First purchase of a Mitutoyo product. (I'm just getting into metalworking as a hobby.) If the quality of this rule is indicative of Mituoyo's quality (and I'm sure it is), I will buy more products made by them. - picky detail: it's a bit thicker than we'd like. (Actually, it doesn't actually flex. It will flex, but with enough force to make you worry you'll overcome the steel's elasticity.) Other than that, the finish is good and the markings are crisp. and easy to read. Overall this is a five…

Great offer for a good rule.

That's a good rule of thumb, although my 6" Starrett is better. That's why. The Starrett rule has a less shiny chrome finish that can be viewed from almost any angle without glare. Incremental Lines on the Starrett scale are easier to read due to the better change in line length on the hard-to-read 32 and 64 scales. The numbers are larger and the depth of the lines is also deeper. You can see examples in my photos. Starrett does not shine metric rules which is why I bought it.The Mitutoyo feels

Clean, strong, beautiful scales. But pictures are misleading

Excellent scale. Very readable and looks great. Fantastic print on it and good surface finish. They are comfortable to hold and have no dangerous edges. The problem I have with this is that the image shows the metric page with two lines of text, one on each side, with a space in the middle. That is not right. The scales I have are a big line of text in the middle. This is the correct model and everything else is correct but the metric side in the picture is different. This annoys me a little…

great ruler. Hard on Old Eyes

As previously mentioned this is a well made, durable product. This would be a 5 star product if the line was wider. It's about twice the width of a regular ruler and while well made and well numbered, I found it difficult to read with my 40+ eyes. Convert mm to inches. Many hardware installation instructions, especially for some higher end hardware, are written in millimeters. Having this ruler handy should make the installation process easier, or rather, easier. Although smaller than I would…

Great little ruler!

How much can I love a ruler? Apparently quite a lot! The steel is .050" thick, which is thicker than the .035" of the 6" General #676 I have on my desk and significantly thicker than the .018" of the General 616 I have in my caliper case. The markings are engraved so they don't rub off. I have nothing to verify accuracy. It is useful to have a metric scale on one side and inches on the other. The downside to this is that the metric side is 1mm on one side and 1/2mm on the other and the inch…
