Back to the good runner

They look more like the Prophecy 5s, with a much wider toe than the 6s. The sixes were too tight and left my legs numb when running. Having ridden 75 miles I can honestly say I like their performance. Good arch support, tight heel, comfortable toes. These shoes fall into my "favorites" category!

Walk like on clouds!

I've been buying Mizuno's Wave Prophecy running shoes since they were introduced a few years ago. I run 20 miles a week and I'm not young anymore but I'm sure they will save my knees and hips from a premature replacement! Be sure to order half a size larger as they run a bit small. The price might seem daunting at first, but they last longer than most running shoes before the midsole wears out, and even then I wear an old pair for walking or gardening. Really great shoe in every way.

Clumsy and narrow for walking

I really wanted to love these shoes as they are expensive and supposedly "best" for supination but they are heavy, feel chunky and are SO tight. I have thin long feet that are a perfect medium size (B) and the first time I put them on I had to stop after a mile and loosen my laces to finish my run. The second time I wore them I had to unlace the laces to even walk and even with them on they were rubbing my feet on the sides and I felt like I was carrying 2 pounds down each leg. I'm not happy…

smaller and narrower than usual

I've been running and using Mizuno for a while now. This was my first online shoe buying experience and I am disappointed. Although I bought a half size larger than my usual shoe size, this pair of Mizunos fit me terribly - my toes go numb 5 minutes after wearing the shoes. I've already loosened the laces as much as possible, but I still feel like the blood flow is blocked in the upper part of the foot. I don't know if there is a real difference between the shoes I bought in store and this pair

Comfort, style but very narrow

I can't walk in anything else so this is my third pair. I had 4s (10) and 5s (10.5) and each time I had to increase the size by 1/2. My usual height is 9 1/2. I bought 10s by 7s thinking they were similar to 4s but I was wrong. They are narrower, my heel and toe were a little tighter compared to my A's. I order 10 1/2. Update: Bought a 10.5 today and the heel is a little looser but doesn't sit very well on the shoe. I've attached a photo of my WP5 for comparison and they are noticeably wider at

Beautiful shoes but narrower than expected

The aqua color is amazing! Over the last few years I have bought several sneakers from Mizuno, my favorite brand. I usually wear a 6, sometimes a 6.5. After reading the customer reviews I ordered the 6.5 which turned out to be surprisingly comfortable. The shoes are the right length and the heel fits through the arch of the foot. But they are denser (thinner) than I would like, from ball of foot to toe. They are not uncomfortable but I have to wear thinner socks than I normally wear for…

Fantastic running shoe

Very happy for my wife that I bought them and she loves them. This shoe is super supportive which is the main quality of this shoe. If you want to look comfortable somewhere else, but of course that doesn't mean they're uncomfortable, they're just great, you can't expect to walk in a cloud while walking or running long distances, you could hurt yourself; The most important thing is the support. If you've gained a few pounds this is the perfect shoe for you, this shoe is built to last. My wife…

I've been waiting for this shoe for a long time.

I've wanted these shoes for a year but didn't want to spend almost $300 on them. I bought the Mizuno Wave Creation 18 instead. They are great running shoes too. When I finally decided to buy them for less than half the starting price I read the reviews and bought 9 even though I usually carry 8. I had plenty of room for my toes but they were snug on my feet. Took her out of the box for a 6 mile run. One leg was starting to go numb, so on my return I switched out the laces for longer ones to…

Very disappointed with Mizuno

It took me a while to write this review after purchasing it and I'll explain why below. But first. I've been wearing the Wave Prophecy line since I was 2 years old. I'm a nurse and I'm always on my feet and I work 16 hrs straight and also run/exercise 4/7 days a week. Shoes of this particular brand and style have been the only shoes I have purchased in the last 6 years or so and so far I have been happy with the fit, durability and comfort of these shoes. I was torn between buying a 7s or 8s…
