Cheap tape, doesn't stick well

This tape just doesn't stick. I wiped the spot clean, put the tape on and after 400 miles of driving it failed. Every time I've ripped off the old stuff and then wiped it off with alcohol, it's failed again. The backing paper was very thin and almost impossible to separate from the tape. The paper often tore when I applied the tape. I finally stopped at an RV dealer and bought a quality band that has now clocked over 1200 miles.

Patience required to use

This works very well for caulking the cuts we had to make in the underside of our fifth wheel. However, you must do the following: 1. Wash the area where the tape will stick with alcohol2. After sticking the tape, use an air dryer to heat the tape and flatten it to make it stick to your lower abdomen. Because the white backing is difficult to remove, use scissors to cut the white backing just below the top edge of the backing to provide a starting edge to peel off the white backing. Layer the…

Ideal for repairing a puncture

I bought this to fix the lower fender of a caravan that had been damaged by a puncture. This material is very sticky and adheres very well to the existing underbelly that I repaired. I followed some instructions which said to clear the area well, have lots of overlap and work short sections at a time. I prepped the area by cleaning it with alcohol and had no adhesion issues. Work in short lengths, occasionally placing a piece perpendicular to your repair. I noticed that it helped strengthen the

Great tape of course

This stuff is amazing. He's very thin, but that's all he really needs. I fixed a water leak where I had to cut the membrane under my 2015 van. I felt nauseous from the pain in my stomach, but water gushed out. The leak has been fixed and new insulation fitted. Then comes the tape. It has a paper backing so either cut it to length first or peel off the paper as you go. I cut out 3 inch pieces to cut off the butterfly. Then cut a full length. This stuff is very sticky so after applying you better

Good width, peels off over time.

I bought this to tape the seams on a roll of underbelly cover. It seemed great at first. A bit fiddly to use, it's not easy to remove paper while crawling under a tiny house, but once I found the system it was less of an issue. The extra width of 4 inches versus 2 or 3 inches is good, especially on the back of a vine that doesn't want to roll. My main complaint is that the edges are peeling (after only a few months). Since I've used it to seal seams in rolled plastic, this resulted in leaks in…

Do not use on RV trailer floor

The purpose of purchasing this tape was to seal the access hole on the corrugated plastic floor of my caravan. The product description stated that it was intended for RV use (although upon further review and to be fair, said it was not designed for moving vehicles). The tape was VERY difficult to remove from the backing. I struggled with that for a long time. Once I removed the backing, it adhered well to the corrugated plastic. However, on my first ride it rained and road water splashed on the

just doesn't stick to the underbelly made of polyester

Total disappointment. Holes in the polyester lower abdomen are common. Many are double-width caravans, requiring the punching of cables and connectors, plumbing and sewer pipes through the floor. This gives rodents and insects access to the bottom of the trailer. This product is designed to repair holes in the bottom of polyester, but is not intended for that at all. After a few days the tape came off. If the 3M adhesive only works for a short time and then gives up, the plastic band on the…
