Disappointing results from Effects paint

According to my experience, this paint did not produce the desired effects on my wall. The color was dull and did not have the metallic finish as advertised. Pros- Easy to apply. Cons- Did not create the desired effects, lacked shine and durability. Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a metallic finish on their walls.

Pros
  • Easy to use and apply with a brush or roller.
Cons
  • Requires multiple coats for desired effect, which can be time-consuming and expensive.

I used this on a metal outdoor lighting project and it was a SUCCESS! The primer is quite thick and smells a little funny, but the whole process is a pleasure and my outdoor pendant lights are looking like a million bucks!

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Reliability

It's a primer that doesn't change color

I used this bronze effect primer to paint a garden trellis. That looks great! (rust base photo added) I can only assume that people who give this one star and say it 'doesn't do anything' don't understand what this particular product is. This is a primer that goes under color changing (oxidizing) paint. The primer does not discolor (oxidize). This is the meaning of the primer - to block the oxidation of the upper layer, which falls on the base below.

Pros
  • Beautiful thing
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
