I bought this product to test marine batteries before replacing them. I wanted to confirm I needed new ones before pulling them out, walking down the pier, across the yard and to the truck. It turned out that both batteries needed to be replaced along with my truck's battery. This is a good tool for an independent person.

Tried to test some weak industrial 6v batteries before charging. Received a message to test the connection even though the voltage was almost 6V. The batteries must also be at least 50% charged for the test to work. Tested again after charging and get the results. I have yet to figure out which CCA to use as the batteries I have are rated for deep cycle amp hours.

One morning my friend's car had trouble starting and I suspected it was the car battery, so I bought this battery tester. I found it relatively easy to use and the information provided was informative. Turns out her battery probably needs replacing and it was nice to get that confirmation before buying a new battery. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.

It was very easy to use. Functionally, it looks the same as with other manufacturers. I was able to get the internal resistance, cold crank amp, and the state of charge and condition of the battery. It looks like it will measure the internal resistance R and then calculate the CCA as 3V/R (3 volts divided by the internal resistance) assuming the battery is at room temperature.
