This has a metal mesh or filter on the end. Solved my problem with a hard tubular pickup clogged with a single piece of rust in my steel tank.

worked great had to squeeze the screen around the tube to make it fall into the hole on my tank but the quality is excellent and it works great. Good fuel economy, should last a while.

Tank end was too big to fit the hole and after grinding it still didn't fit. Cut off the end and insert a small plug to make it heavier. The upper part of the tube fits perfectly. Seems to be working fine.

I had to change the length of the hose to fit my chaparral but the process was quick and easy. The pickup's mesh filter is tight, which tells me it probably shouldn't be adjustable in length, but I managed to get it to work.

The original intake manifold had an internal mesh in the intake manifold which made it easy to clog with dirt in the tank. The new pickup tube has an extended outer mesh sock at the entrance end of the pickup tube, which will give you years of worry-free trouble.
