The cartridge was a perfect replacement for the Moen Chateau single handle shower head. I also bought a removal tool. The tool made it easy to remove the old cartridge.

Always replace genuine Moen parts. The fakes don't fit. With well water, the parts can be separated with a little effort using a puller.

I have bought two Danco products before this Moen product. I thought I installed Danco incorrectly because it started leaking after a few weeks. But it wasn't me. It was a cheap aftermarket Danco. This Moen went in smoothly and slides smoothly once installed. Do not buy Danko products. Buy Moen and only do the job once!

I got this valve after buying another valve on this site which shows solid brass valve. Both photos of the valves show a solid brass valve, while the first one I bought says it's brass. Second one I bought after research showed the 1225b was a solid brass valve. When I got the first one for $16 and thought it was brass it came with a plastic body and brass shaft and it leaked so I sent it back it was 1225.
