Description of Monroe 37114 OESpectrum Light Truck Shock Absorber - Enhanced Ride Quality and Durability

EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING - Full displaced valving, tuned specifically to each vehicle, adjusts to road extremes while the larger bore provides more efficient damping control to provide consistency and a smooth ride. IMPROVES STABILITY - ASD (Acceleration Sensitive Damping) valving technology and fluon-banded piston deliver greater control and handling while improving ride comfort. IMPROVES PERFORMANCE - Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade. CONSISTENT RIDE - OE all-weather fluid contains special additives to assist with extreme temperatures and help reduce oil breakdown. BUILT TO LAST - Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear.

Good shock for your money. At least

Easy installation on first generation Taco. I had the same shock absorber but judging by the looks they were pretty old. Since I installed the new ones up front, I swapped them out, although the old ones still looked good after removing them.

  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Interval

For Tacoma '96 3.4L 4WD GREAT

The suspension compresses and rebounds in a controlled, smooth ride. When raised, it simply assumes a neutral position when driving. The world of improvements afterward was so ricocheting that at times I felt like I didn't have complete control of the situation. Decent trip. decent treatment. While I wouldn't mind buying again, I would experiment with another brand just to have that kind of comparison.

Installation was pretty easy (no need to jack up the truck), I used .

I replaced the stock rear shocks on my 2003 non-TRD Toyota Tacoma that were leaking. 37114 for one side and 37113 for the other side. Installation was fairly easy (no need to lift the truck). I used the rubber bushings that came with the shocks but decided to reuse the washers from the original shocks. The ride feels the same to me (which is good) and I no longer have leaking shocks. The price was very reasonable.

This is an easy DIY. No need to lift

Screw the old screw onto the new one. This is an easy DIY. The car didn't need to be jacked up, nor did the spare tire need to be thrown. It would be nice if the shock absorber was compressed. Make the top one first, but don't tighten it, leave a small gap in it. Place the rubber bushings on the "sleeve" that the screw enters from below. It was difficult to keep the bushings in the shock when you press the shock to compress. I also needed a socket extender (5" I think) for the passenger side.

The best shocks! in shocks

I've changed shock absorbers and struts on several cars, but these are the best! I just installed Monroe shocks and struts on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma. The assembly went smoothly as the fit was perfect. I've had a rough ride with shock swaps in the past, but these shocks made for a remarkably smooth ride. Great product at any price. But $220 for a set of four was a steal! NOTE: For a 2003 Toyota Tacoma I had to purchase each shock separately (not included) and there is left and right for front and

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Not bad, but...
